HERO.

THE VOICE THAT HIT EARS HAD HER SHARPLY TURNING TO FACE THE MAN WHO OWNED IT. eyes NARROWING in an instant mistrust, HANDSOME JACK — possibly the SCUMMIEST MAN to ever walk the face of pandora. an EGO bigger than SPACE and unfortunately a REPUTATION TO MATCH. eyes BRIEFLY LOOKING AROUND at the BANDITS that had retreated so quickly, at the ARMED GUARDS that now stood like INDESTRUCTIBLE beings, cowards; the lot of them. nothing but CORPORATE, CAPITALIST SCUMBAGS that had had a WEAK PLANET caving under the pressure of their BOOTS. allowing him to RUN HIS MOUTH before speaking, though the SCOWL ON FACE ended up becoming more and more clear with EACH WORDS that passed his UGLY MASKED FACE.  

❛ I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT ❜ taking a STEP BACK to get some distance between them, noting that in the CORNER OF HER EYE, the cat was in the far in the background ; it’s blue eyes BRIGHT, a mere GHOST observing the scene a head. it was nervous, cora could FEEL THAT ❛ MAYBE CHECK YOUR SOURCES BEFORE YOU START SWINGING YOUR DICK AROUND. ‘cus CLEARLY someone out here lying to you. ❜  truthfully, there wasn’t a SINGLE BONE that was AFRAID of jack, not right now : but when he FINDS OUT what she is, that’s when a fear would set in. for now, EVERYONE would notice the way hand HOVERED over her weapon, not bothering to HIDE IT — A WARNING. 

    Handsome Jack stays put. Boots planted in Pandoran soil, clearly there to STAY. And he laughs. A manic chuckle that makes each and every armed guard tense at their posts. They all KNEW Handsome Jack didn’t really need them there. They they were nothing more than a (not so) cheap tactic for intimidation and show of power. They all knew that Handsome Jack had the skills to take them out in a matter of MINUTES if he wanted to. 

    It’s a good twenty seconds before the CEO steps forwards, that iconic, dangerous GRIN glued to artificial features.  “ No no no -- y’ see, pumpkin, I KNOW when my sources are tellin’ me a lie. And THEY know that if they DO tell a lie, I ain’t gonna stand around n’ play PRETTY all frickin’ day. ” His tone is too joyful for the dark undertones, a stark contrast to what he DID to those that DARED cross him. 

   “ Hey there, princess! ”  It’s COMICAL, how the bandits scatter like beetles afraid to be squashed under exclusive Hyperion-issued expensive boots. Useless idiots, paid off in way too much money to keep their interest for more than five seconds. He barks a few orders intertwined with various insults, and soon a sea of bare skin and rags is replaced by a small group of more expensively armed soldiers. People who keep well back, eyes glued to anywhere but Handsome Jack’s gaze. As if afraid meeting his gaze would turn them to stone (or result in a bullet through their skull - which was fair game). 

    Hyperion’s CEO wears a loose smile on his lips, sickly sweet and hiding the hunger behind mismatched eyes. VAULT HUNTERS. Oh how he HATED them. They ruin EVERYTHING. They were the REAL snakes in the water. The blue burning deep under his mask was nothing but a reminder of that. Of their BETRAYALS.

    He prowls closer, stopping just outside that line of personal space. Too close, yet too far. Hands come to stay firmly on hips, eyeing the shorter woman. “ So I heard -- YOU --” (a finger points for emphasis). “ -- had a nice piece of information about one of those VAULTS. I know, I know -- you’re probably wondering ‘ NOW WHAT REASON DOES HANDSOME GODDAMN JACK HIMSELF HAVE TO COME SPEAK TO ME PERSONALLY? ’ -- right? ” Mask shifts to show an exaggerated questioning look, however he starts speaking again before she gets the chance to answer.

    “ Yeah, yeah. Y’ see, pumpkin, I’m lookin’ for somethin’. And if y’ willing t’ HELP -- ”  A more sing-song tone to the end of his words accompanied with a wide gesture, and smile too big to hide the excitement at a possibility of new vault info. Jack takes a step closer, dipping slightly into her space. “ -- Just think of this as a JOB INTERVIEW. Like y’ skipped those IDIOTS in H&R and got all the way up to the VERY TOP. ANYWAY, my POINT IS.. ”
