The thing about Nichole, that truly defines her as a character, is that she truly does not see anyone but her as a full person. Everybody is just an object to her, existing only in regards to how they relate to her, and if they deviate from that she lashes out. Rupali kisses someone else? She's a cock teasing whore. Kathy shows she's made genuine progress at learning to tidy up and make new meals for herself? she's completely inscrutable and crazy. Rashmi dares to be Rupalis betrothed? She's a brute. Kim has a complicated history with her gender where didn't immediately know the identity that fir her best? She's the enemy AND a brute. Rupali/Nichole was never going to be something that made them happy because Rupali is a person, with thoughts, and trauma, and flaws of her own. She's not a damsel for Nichole to have a yuri with, she's a queer woman with dimension. And Nichole fundamentally can't see people like that. She can't see the people around her except as extensions of herself or enemies, never as complicated people with genuine interiority. It's the same pattern when she's interacting with Rupali, Kathy and Emmy, they have to be what she wants them to be, or she hurts them with deliberate malice. Even in the moments that seem nice, and romantic, and cute between the two are just. so gross feeling because of this. Rupali needed a friend, someone who actually gave the slightest shit about her as a human being rather than as Nicholes new waifu. Nichole fundamentally didn't actually see the phone call with Rupali as helping her friend get through a rough time, she saw it as presenting herself as a level up event in a dating sim, and that's so sad. Thank god Rupali had Tahani and Kim, who actually treat her as a whole ass person rather than a cum pillow.
