I started this picture a year ago with the intent of getting it into the Art Gallery in advance of the actual Darigan Varwolf design. Sadly I got frustrated and gave up, only to rediscover the WIP while cleaning out my files and deciding I didn't actually hate it anymore.
So here is my belated take on the Darigan Varwolf before the OFFICIAL Darigan Varwolf came out!
Do you think that adding in RPG game mechanics could save Neopets?
Like can the quests be personalized based on what your neopet is or what guild you're in?
Can you build up stats through quests, and each time you level up you gain skills based on either your "colour" or what your guild specializes in (colours could be treated as character classes)?
Have there be a party system where you can invite other users to join you on a quest?
Have unique abilities and powers set for each neopet, which in turn make having more pet slots make sense other than for customization? (Personally I don't just want a whole of bunch of lil fuckers that do the same thing or do nothing other than complain about being hungry or just stand looking pretty).
Adding on to the last point, have there be events and areas that only specific neopets can enter or participate in?
Also there being a guild stash where people pool in their own items to those who need it in their guild
Petpets can aid you in quests by fetching you items and fighting alongside you in combat encounters and the battle dome
Non-RPG elements I would like:
A Neopet Nursery: On your adventures/quests, you have a 20% chance of encountering a neopet egg or being rewarded with one from completing a quest/adventure. You'd have your own nursery with all the babies and eggs you have collected, and decide whether to keep them or put them up for adoption (NOT AS IN SEND THEM TO THE POUND! You can't put baby pets in the pound, only transfer or trade them with other users).
These eggs can vary in colour, and even be limited edition pets too.
The baby brush would function as a "temporary" class, generally used to reset your pet's stats, class, level, and any gained skills you got from your experience. Your pet would eventually grow up around 100 days or more and be a blank slate.
You could hire a babysitter to look after your baby pets when you aren't active (this could be an NPC or other user) and even babysit other user's pets as well and earn neopoints from it.
Also baby pets wouldn't be allowed to engage in combat or the battle dome because...NO. (Why does this game ban depictions of alcohol but not babies getting beaten up)?
Neopets Bonding with Each Other: I never understood why they didn't add this in the game from the beginning. Pets interacting with one another would also give players more of a reason to get more pets. This is more of a cozy game mechanic of just seeing your pets play with each other or have some comedic slapstick fighting. Your pets bond by how compatible their personality traits are.
I'm sorry, but Hannah's ears on the Makeshit plush look nasty...
I never liked Makeship plushies because they're not really toys, just decorations. To me, plushies are toys meant to be cuddled and played with. Theses shits look too stiff and look like sensory hell to someone like me (the loose felt pieces make me wanna cry).
Also hate the same pose pattern they use on all the humanoid/anthropomorphic characters. Like do people actually enjoys this things or just pity buy them?

Have there be an AU or canon compliant plot where Hoban gets found by the Black Pawkeet instead of the Cyrodrake Gaze while stranded at sea
Gets held hostage by Garin and his crew who make him their reluctant navigator (Garin will take on more of a villain role in this because I think it'd be cool).
Garin learns about what happened to Hoban during his time on the Cyrodrake Gaze and tries to convince Hoban to join his men and live a life of piracy with them.
Also can some tell me how birthdays and years work in this franchise?
I still don't know what the fuck someone being born in 18 BN or 22 BN is suppose to mean. Because if that's the case, shouldn't Hoban be 22 then? Or shouldn't Garin be 34 around the time the Cryodrake Gaze plot began?
I really don't like people who are LGBTQ+ that accept religious/spiritual beliefs that are against them. I just think it's both tone deaf and stupid. You can't be pro-choice or support LGBTQ+ if you're also fine with things like Christianity, Judaism, Catholicism or Islam. Majority of pro-lifers and anti-LGBTQ+ people are one of those things above.
"Not everyone who is one of those things are against pro-choice or LGBTQ+." To me, that doesn't matter because they support an ideology that has been responsible as to why people have to fight for abortion or LGBTQ+ rights. They're also responsible as to why we have things likes gender roles to begin with. It's hypocritical to say you hate harmful beliefs and ideologies when you are perfectly fine with religions and spiritual beliefs that literally propagate them.

I thought it would just show up on the search results and people would see the posts made, but I'm seeing more activity for my THW post so I'll make a introduction post about the group soon.

I know that majority of the fandom is non-english speaking, but like I wanna make a discord or something for team hot wheels.
Just a place for me and other fans to dump whatever fanfic bullshit we come up with for a feature length toy commercial. And while I don't believe something being based on a toy line makes it inherently bad, I do believe that if you're gonna use an artistic medium like animation to make something based off of it, you should at least be creative enough to where it can be appreciated as it's own thing outside of it's main source material. Or use the toy line as more of a creative guide than template, like MLP:FIM or Lego Monkie Kid.
I've seen some fan's different interpretations on the series, and it shows that media based on toys can be good if you just put in enough thought and interest in it. Like you don't have to have every aspect of the movies connect to the toys at the expense of making the plot, themes, writing and conflict feel rigid and one dimensional. You can take inspiration from other things outside of it too.
I like the first and (a little less of the) second movie more because it gave us more interpersonal moments and insight on the characters. I really liked how Wyatt was portrayed as a vain but sweet, well meaning country boy in the first one and used his cowboy characterization to tame the mutants. The third movie just completely erased that and undid Wyatt's whole character, making him a dumb jock meathead.
How do you guys feel about the priest being Nightmare Husbando material?
I've seen some people say that others make the Priest look too much like Abaddon (even though that's literately what genetics do but whatever), and some would like the Priest to have a more creepy design. Though I fail at doing it most times, I would like to do more horror stuff.
Now about my proposal for the Priest design:
He exist within a state of limbo, which causes his spirit to become corrupted and completely non-human as time went on. While he had a proper burial, he wasn't accepted into heaven due to his failure to exorcise Abaddon, and was only allowed in if he managed to killed Abaddon and save his son (assuming he didn't die during the exorcism and is trapped with Abaddon still). However, due to his non-corporeal form, he couldn't do it himself and would have needed the assistance of a living person with expertise like his in order to do the exorcism again. Of course, there was no one he could go to as they either assumed he was a demon or didn't posses the same skill and knowledge as he did. So hopeless in finding another to do his unfinished business, his soul became to become a husk of who he once was and is now a Wraith.
He walks around on his knees due to his legs breaking from the fall, and can morph his body to elongate himself and merge with the shadows. He can manipulate the darkness and use it as a way to "punish sinners" by engulfing them into a dark void or even control other people's shadows to puppeteer them.
As much as I want to meet the Priest and the Vessel in the nest season, I have a feeling that they showed up at the hotel already during Abaddon's time loop montage. The part where Katherine and Esther are holding him down while his eyes were glowing blue makes me think that the Vessel was regaining his consciousness and in a panic, started causing havoc in the hotel and the Freelings had to sedate him and find a way to re-attempt the exorcism, despite knowing that it would kill Abaddon but at least would finally put the Vessel at peace.
Ben probably fucked up the ritual and either put the Vessel "back to sleep" or merged both the Vessel's and Abaddon's souls together, unknowingly creating a completely new person (if you consider the merging of two souls to result in an entirely different being to be a thing).
