“na, think it’s cosy to be honest.” zelda wasn’t going to move for anyone. she was perfectly fine where she was, cocooned in her duvet with barely her face on display, lit up all blue-like by the gameboy in her hands. “you wanna go outside and check, you be my guest. me ‘n charizard’ll stay nice n’ toasty in the warmth here, won’t we?” eyes still trained upon her hand console’s screen, she blindly reached out to pat her dog’s head; he ruffed slightly to concur.
“ — — -tatum sounds scared, doesn’t she? yes she does, she does, yes.” as her voice grew silly, the labrador stirred; rose by her side to excitedly butt his wet nose with her cheek.
“I’m not scared.” Tatum was quick to retort, “I’m just saying, if this were a horror movie, now’s about the time it would start getting all.....Stabby.” She mimicked the motion as if Zelda could see her in the pitch black room where the only dim light came from the gameboy in the blonde’s hands.
She tore herself away from the thick warmth of their comforter out of simple curiosity and briefly glanced back at Charizard to see if the dog had even considered moving from his spot beside Zelda. When he ( unsurprisingly ) didn’t budge, Tatum simply reached across her to scratch the dog behind his ears, “Traitor.” She murmured, Charizard only gave a wag of his tail in reply.
Navigating their bedroom in darkness was seemingly just as hard to do when it was filled with light, she’d learned her lesson after having legos imprinted onto the soles of her feet countless times. Luckily, this time she only nearly slipped on a couple wayward articles of clothing before reaching the window to peek outside, “I think the whole block’s out.”
