Kimiran Oshotenat
I figured I would write something about Kimiran since I started talking about the Kingmaker game I am in. Also he is my pride and joy so. Yeah lol Kimiran is a human warpriest of Pharasma though in a lot of ways he is agnostic. That is to say he hasn't settled on any one faith because he finds the gods fickle and sometimes not worthy of attention.
More about the Boy below the cut, art included!
Kimiran was raised by a herbalist doctor and had an older brother named Liosh. Liosh always wanted to be a soldier or an adventurer and Kim looked up to him a lot. Their father however was very much a pacifist, dedicated to the healing arts and over bearing in a lot of ways. He wanted his boys to follow in his footsteps and be healers. That never sat well with Liosh. Their mother encouraged them to do what made them happy but wasn't keen on her boys dying in a fight.
Kimiran however was a sad kid. Just generally morose about everything and hated long winters. He felt better about rain though, no matter the cold. He would play soldiers with his brother and the two would excitedly ask after stories of adventure.
However one day, when Liosh was old enough to leave home, their father had planned for him to go study under a fellow doctor, his son would instead run away. He would go off to be an adventurer himself. Life got cold after for Kimiran as one of the best lights in his life was gone.
In time the family would receive a grief stricken letter from Lisoh, who had come to regret leaving in the night but he never explained what shook him up so much. He encouraged Kimiran to follow a life that made him happy. The Oshotenats would grieve for their boy and light a candle in the window every night for him to come home to.
Kimiran would eventually take up his studies and try to follow his fathers advice. He however held it in his mind that Liosh was alive and Kim might be able to bring him home. So when it was his turn to leave home for the Big City, he would leave, take the money given to him, and use it to find his brother.
He did learn that Liosh had made a modest living adventuring and would even be able to track him down in time. Their reunion wouldn't happen though, at least not how Kim had envisioned it. He would find Liosh and his party dead at the hands of some monster. In a grief filled haze he would bury his brother and wander for some time.
He didn't recover from that for a long, long time. He would take work as a guard in the city and eventually, when he was ready to seek comfort and answers, he would become a guard for local pilgrims and priests. He befriended a priest named Asgin who taught Kimiran much of what he knows about religion, rituals, and divine magic.
Asgin would help set Kim on the path to being a priest in his own right.
But one day, during a bandit raid, Asgin would die at the hands of an elven brigand. Kimiran would later learn the elfs name and keep it in his head that he would track them down one day. Velatheryn.
Having lost a great friend, Kim would go on to continue his studies as a warpriest and swear an oath to protect those who cannot defend themselves. Greatly in honor of Asgin. Eventually he would go on to claim a charter from Lady Jamadi Aldori to venture into the Stolen Lands and settle the region.
He does this in hopes of providng a safe haven for settlers and potential refugees should his home of Brevoy fall into civil war. To this day he worships Pharasma closely and uses his brothers broken sword as a holy symbol. A reminder to keep his comrades from suffering similar fates.
