A place for me to show off my attempts at Character writups, as well as my attempts at hacking preexisting games, and even at time trying to make my own.

So, I was bored and ended up writing up the Seven Deadly Sins (From Nanatsu no Taizai the anime) into gods for a D&D game.
Feel free to use, and if anyone comes up with some fun things clerics of these guys can use, feel free to suggest!

So...I did it, have a very rough draft of a potential Demon race flavored after the Demons in the Seven Deadly Sins Manga/anime
Greater Demon Race:
Ability Score Increases: Your Constitution Increases by 2 up to a total of twenty.
Size: Medium.
Speed: 30 feet.
Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Power of Darkness: You have innate control of the power of darkness, at level 1 you can do one of the below at any time and use a BA to switch, at level 10 you can do two at a time. While using any of these abilities the Darkness is readily noticeable, additionally many demons walk around with darkness markings on their bodies but if wished these markings can be suppressed.
Armor of Darkness: Your unarmored Defense equals 10+Con modifier+PB.
Weapon of Darkness: Your unarmed damage if 1D6+strength, you get a +1 to hit.
Wings of Darkness: You have a flight speed of 30.
Indura: As an action you can sacrifice six of your seven hearts and chant a spell to make a contract with your inner darknessādoing so gives you great power but makes your character a monster and a NPC.
Ā Forms: Demons come in a vast array of appearances and sub-groups and so their capabilities are nearly limitless.
Humanoid: Humanoid Demons look like humans on the surface and with little effort can pretend to be run of the mill humans. (Example: Meliodas, Zeldris, Monspeet, Derieri)
Ability Score Increases: Like the humans you resemble on the surface level you donāt have any one area you excel but can do excel in any area you wish. +1 to any ability except Constitution.
Uplifted: Sometimes Lesser Demons are born mutatedāgreater than the near-animalistic from of their brethren, other times animals bathe in miasma long enough that they gain great power and intelligence. (Examples: Greyroad, Melascula)
Ability Score Increase: +2 in any one skill other than Constitution or Charisma, -1 in charisma.
Shapeshifting: As an action the Uplifted is capable of changing their shape to look like a humanoid of their choice or back to their original form.
Original Form: All Uplifted have an original formāeven if they rather prefer to stay shapeshifted instead of use it. This Original form can by anything in the Monster Manual with a CR: of less than Level/2?
Fallen: Fallen Demons were once people fo another race who fell to temptation and pledged themselves to the Demon King. (Examples: Gloxinia, Dolor)
Ability Score Increases: Replaces base Ability scores granted by the Demon Race, instead use the Ability Scores granted by the characters former race.
Size: The Size of your character changes to its former race.
Speed: The Speed of your character changes to its former race.
Giant: Giant Demons are Demons of great and unusual sizes (Example: Fraudrin, Calmadious)
Ability Score Increase: +2 to strength, -1 to dexterity.
Size: You size changes to large.
Weapon of Darkness Upgrade: Your weapon of darkness does 1D8+str instead of 1D6+str.
Iāve never tried to figure out a proper 5E Spark class (though I have played Zeetha in DnD as a 1 level war cleric and the rest battle-master fighter) beyond deciding that the Underneath Arcana Artificer class just doesnāt fit thematically unfortunately (The only Artificer class Iāve ever seen that fit sparks was a home brew Dungeon World one).
That said Iād be totally up for brainstorming with you to try and make one with you.
Other than that, the Fate RPG Atomic Robo can rather easily play Girl Genius out of box, and Iāve made a small hack to make it a bit more thematic here:Ā https://hackandtinkrpg.tumblr.com/post/172179829976/girl-geniusatomic-robo-rpg-basic-hackĀ and is working on a bigger hack for fun, if your interested.
Ohhhh neato! Unfortunately I know positively zip about Fate, since Iām a bit new to RPGs as a whole which means itās a totally great idea to make up new classes yeah? Apparently someone else took a crack at it, but it seems a little⦠I dunno⦠Magicky?
well if you have any interest in learning, my post has a few links that leads to the SRD which is basically the rule sets it has. (There are a couple of different ones, Core, Fae, Modes, ect. Atomic Robo uses Modes.)
Also donāt worry about newness, Iāve loved hacking RPGs long before I ever played one, and I have personally never gotten the chance to play FATE.
Atomic Robo, out of the box could easily play in the Girl Genius World, especially a pulp āHeterodyne Girlā inspired story with lower powered (minor Sparks) characters. That said, a little bit of tweaking could help make the system fit much better.
The first basic bit is how to handle the Spark. Science (or in this case Spark) mode could do it on its own, especially if difficulties for different levels of science was lowered (for Sparks at least), and a lot of fun with Create Advantages. But for the fun of the hack, Iām changing Notice (Sparks while in the madness place arenāt the most perceptive of folks) to Rapport (Spark induced charisma) to help with the feel of it all.
Additionally, to be a Spark a character must have an appropriate Aspect. This is important because Sparks are capable of invoking this aspect whenever they want for a +1, and even up to three times (amount of times = to where the Spark mode in on their sheet) at once (For a bonus of a huge, and free +3). On the flips side though, every time they do they give a free invoke on the Storyteller who can do the same. Aka: The Madness Place!
To help balance things out, Sparks automatically get one less FP in their refresh per level of Spark +1 (+1 mode= 3 refresh, +3 mode=1 refresh), and only have two stunt slot before paying in to the Storytellerās pool.
And finally, and this is for all characters, every character gets a specialty that is automatically +1 higher than the skill itās under. For instance Sparks can have Specialty: Clanks or Specialty: Constructs connected to Science, while Fighting characters might have Specialty: Shoot, or Specialty: Dual Wielding connected to Combat, and Sneaky characters might have specialty: Sleight of Hand or Specialty: Disguise connected to Burglary or Deceive, ect.
Inventing works as is, though should be limited to major projects or simplified for lesser ones to keep the game going (As Sparks do more inventing than Action Scientists do). Brainstorming also works as is for Pulpy oneshots. For less pulpy, mysterious, or multi-shot games, perhaps instead using the variation found in the link below to extend one brainstorm across the entire game, each round being one scene and put on hold until the next clue is found. As well as at times compelling and giving out FP to the fighters instead of the Brainstormers.
Mission Briefings Could also be fun in certain games.
And that should cover most basic things and feel a little more setting appropriate I think. I have plans (And is currently working on) a bigger, more involved Girl genius/Atomic Robo RPG hack which Iāll post eventually, but until then this certainly should work!
