TTRPG by Trans Designers
For trans day of visibility, here are a few of my fave ttrpgs (and supplements) by openly trans+ designers.
Against the Odds by Helena Real
Heroic fantasy powered by the apocalypse (PBTA), AtO's thesis statement is "heroes don't kill if they want to remain heroes." There's a heavy emphasis on the personal costs of killing another person, which is refreshing in heroic fantasy.
Helena also wrote my favourite Fate game, Ngen Mapu!
Shadow/Giant by Luka Brave
One of my favourite duet games out there- and very reminiscent of Protect the Child, one of my favourite forged in the dark (FITD) games! Go figure.
One player takes on the role of a jaded adult, and the other the magical child they are learning to care for. It's asymmetrical, which means the two characters are mechanically very different, but it's nicely explained in the text.
Beam Saber by Avalyn Ramsey
Speaking of FITD...Beam Saber is the mecha game for this system! It's been out for a few years now so there are lots of cool additional playbooks and such too.
Avalyn has another FITD game in playtesting at the moment, Time Passes, so check it out and let her know what you think!
GIRL FRAME by Isabelle Ruebsaat
One of the most delightful, confronting and raw games of this past year. It's about the war machine reducing people to objects. It's about power imbalances and the cruelty that enables (and encourages.) It's also about lesbian sex & giant robots.
