had there been a feeling greater than relief , undoubtedly lidia would have used it to convey the sweeping wave washing over her at lorin’s eager words. she is the mother lidia had only heard stories of. one that radiated pure , unrelenting love from her heart no matter what trials or tribulations befall her. the feeling only expmplified by the warmth that was her home. amaya was whom lidia wished her own mother had been , whom she hoped she could be for her boys. and whilst the latter was a dream long gone , she carried with her proof that she could still be that person for her own son’s. however , that talk was not one she was planning for today.

it was a risk. not one of physical harm by any means. but the weight of her plan hung over her unlike any dagger or bullet had before. for the first time in her life lidia was risking her heart. laying out every emotion that she had kept buried and tossed to the side for decades front and center with no control of the outcome. he could say no. it was his decision at the end of the day. even though all the two had shared , had endured together , rhun could still deny her request. and lidia would have to be okay with that. they were still mates. the love between them would still flow for eons and then some , but he could still say no.
sweat coated the palms of her once steady hands as she stood on the front steps of his mothers home. with his father long dead , body consumed by the earth ( not that she would give that bastard of a man the time of day nor satisfaction of asking ) , lidia felt it proper to ask for lorin’s blessing. her permission of sorts of allowing someone like lidia cervos to wed her only son. willing steadiness through her veins , hands knocked against the front door , the churning of her gut tightening as the milliseconds ticked by hoping for the best whilst bracing for the worst.
