There’s this general thread of you know software itself is evil. And I really wish there was an actual thought process besides “technology bad” because there is a problem with how technology is utilized but it’s literally A Tool. It’s not magic, it’s a tool that’s being misused. Especially wrt planned obsolescence, it’s like a cultural phenomenon that people desire faster tech for no real reason except actually there is a real reason and you can point your finger right at it. The co morbidities of planned obsolescence and unnecessarily poorly optimized code presented as advancement aren’t core tenants of tech itself but instead capitalism driven tech.

two machines stand opposite of each other. One has decided it will work for 1 more year, then feign illness to retire to the sea. The other has been trying to finish sanding herself into a single atom for many centuries, and has never realized that she does not have the ability to do this.
