This is a funny story about shopping for Carl Barks comics.

Rereading “Back to Long Ago” for the millionth time. Headcanon: Scrooge subconsciously knows the sailors are Donald and the kids, but suppresses it because he can’t admit to himself that he doesn’t really want to cheat Donald out of his share of the treasure. So he lets them come along but pretends he was fooled, not unlike how he allowed Goldie to find his cache of nuggets “by accident” in “Back to the Klondike”.

Like in a lot of modern depictions, however, Barks’ philosophers’ stone merely needs to be touched to metal objects to turn them to gold; whereas the actual ancient alchemists saw it as a substance that needed to be mixed with molten metals to create gold.

I don’t ship Scrooge/Goldie but this fanvid is pretty well-done lol.
