Demi: That's a good question. I should take you to see the coves. Have you been there yet?

“It ends us being girlfriends. Because then we’ll be wives.” She smiled brightly before grabbing Gwen’s hand to move back inside their villa. “We both threw the pure part of our virtue out a long time ago. It’s part of the reason I adore you.” She moved to sit on the edge of the kitchen counter and pulled Gwen between her legs. “I think you could very much get away with white. Or if you want to wear black with me, we could very much do that. Or if you want to be in any color I don’t care. As long as we get married. We’re already screwing tradition so who cares about the colors.” Her smile stayed on her face as she looked at Gwen. “So, what should we do on our vacation? Did you know they have some more interesting locations here? We should explore those.” 

“You are adorable, did you know that?” Gwen settled herself comfortably against Mina’s body, wrapping her arms around her waist, just relaxing into the way their bodies fit against each other. She laughed, “Well, it’s hard to maintain purity of any standard when you’re right there, staring at me with that look on your face.” She laughed, “I think maybe because we’re screwing tradition in so many ways, it might be nice to keep the one.” Gwen bit her lower lip, “You are going to be so irresistible in your wedding dress, we’re going to have to find a way to sneak away for a little while during the reception so we can... consummate.” Leaning in, she brushed her lips across Mina’s jawline and began to kiss languidly down her neck. “We should go see them sometime, shouldn’t we?”

Gwen wrapped her arms around Luka, squeezing him tightly. He’d been a part of her life for a long time, and despite the small matter that he’d dated Mina, she knew still trusted him wholeheartedly. “I missed you too.”

49. Have you done anything recently that you hope nobody finds out about?

“I try to live my life in a way that I don’t feel like I have to hide things. I mean, some things I’d like to stay private, but I can’t really think of anything that would really upset me if people found out about.”

14. Do you believe in luck and miracles?

“I don’t know if I believe in miracles in a religious sense, but I think I do believe in some kind of luck. I like the idea that every so often the universe just decides to do you a solid, and lead you to something unexpected and wonderful.”

50. What was the colour of the last hoodie you wore?

Gwen smiled, looking up at her brother. “I guess we’ll have to do this eventually no matter what. Might as well get all of the awkward out of the way, right? Dinner with Mina and Luka is going to be great, and not awkward at all.”

“My darling,” she said, her grin almost catlike. “You are never getting rid of me. I meant what I told my father. I have no intentions of this ending in anything other than us wearing white and meeting each other at the end of the aisle. Or let’s be honest, I’ll be in black and you’ll be in white. We both know who’s the more angelic one out of us. At least in public.” She leaned in and kissed her girlfriend hard, not even trying to hide what she was feeling. Mina pulled away only when she needed air, keeping close to Gwen. “I love you. It scares me sometimes how much I do.” 

Gwen smiled, “Technically, you know that’s not an ending, right?” she teased gently, wrapping an arm around her girlfriend’s waist, pulling her closer. “I think you’re a lot more angelic than you give yourself credit for, at least to me.” She laughed, “Well if that’s what you’re measuring this by, I don’t think either of us are ‘pure’ enough for a white wedding dress, not with all of the filthy things I think about every time I look at you.” Reaching up with one hand, she gently brushed a lock of red hair out of Mina’s face, tucking it gingerly behind her ear. “I love you too. There’s no one else for me in this whole vast universe.”

Being on the island as a captive was something that Luka became accustomed to. Although he wanted to get back to Italy to reclaim his throne from his uncle, he couldn’t help but feel placated with Demi and Gabe by his side. Two of his siblings were both there as well and since neither had been harmed, Luka didn’t have much to complain about. “It’s okay…I’m used to living here. How long are you visiting for? I know Demi wants to plan a dinner for uh, the four of us,” Luka mentioned with a smile. Luka felt nervous about the dinner, but Demi assured him it would be good, rather than awkward. “It’s hard to stay mad at Demi for long. He has such a big heart,” he said, never tiring of beaming accolades about his boyfriend. Demi was a true gem; a diamond in the rough.

Over the years Luka had just become a part of her life, and she’d grown to trust him and his advice. There was no denying how strange their situation was now that Gwen was dating Luka’s ex, given that he was her brother’s boyfriend. While it was something she’d known the whole time she’d been seeing Mina, it was a lot easier to ignore when she didn’t have to look Luka in the eye, or they didn’t all have to sit down for dinner together. “I’ll be here for the foreseeable future, I couldn’t just leave Mina to do all of this alone, you know?” she smiled. “He told me. I know it might be awkward but, I guess it’s better to rip off that particular band-aid sooner rather than later, right?” Gwen nodded. As frustrated and angry as she had been, and still was with her brother, she was still just overwhelmingly happy that he was alright and that they were reunited. “I could never be mad at him for long, and that’s just as true for all of this.”

[Later]

Demi: What are your plans this afternoon? I have a free day and plan to spend an hour or 2 at the beach if you want to join me?

“I would very much like to.”

“I have plenty to thank you for.” She turned Gwen so they were facing each other. “You have stuck with me through all of this. It would have been understandable if you didn’t want to be with me anymore. Nobody, including myself, would have blamed you for that.” Her hand cupped Gwen’s cheek before leaning in to kiss her softly. She pulled away slowly, wanting her girlfriend as close as possible. “You’ve always been too good for me. This just further proves it.” 

Gwen furrowed her brow, “You severely underestimate just how much of a catch you are. I would be an idiot to ever even dream of giving this, of giving you up.” She wrapped her arms around Mina’s waist, pulling her closer. “I would never ever ever let you get away from me. I intend to keep you around for as long as you’ll possibly have me.” She leaned in to kiss her again. “I am not too good for you, I am lucky to have you.”

“Mina is obviously my number one. I would sleep with her any time, any day, and I’m lucky enough to mostly be able to do that. Aside from her, I mean— I guess I have to pick two people, but I there’s no one else I actually want to sleep with really, so I guess I’d have to say, Devyn and maybe Darragh.”

“I couldn’t agree more,” Gwen smiled. “Which is why you should give me back the french fries you just took off of my plate. Normally I’m all for sharing is caring, and all of that bullshit, but you should get your own fries if you want that many!”
