"This is Jason" Karma, Fate, something put Jason in my path yesterday and I hope MY FANS will read this. I was at Macy's food court in SF drawing (as I do) a cartoon that by total chance had a subject about "Lost Souls" (homeless). When I came out of Macy's security was attending a man (homeless?) that had collapsed on the sidewalk blocking the path and making me change my route and steered straight into Jason. I could see he was struggling to paint funny faces on rocks with what was left of a broken stub of a paint brush. I stopped to talk to him and hear his story ... as an artist his struggle felt familiar to me. After a few minutes I knew what it was I was to do. I went to Daiso (Japanese dollar store) about four blocks away and then hurried back to where Jason was hoping to get there before it was dark enough that he'd be gone. Upon returning I handed Jason the variety pack of 10 paint brushes I bought at Daiso for $ 4 dollars and told him my story. You see, I have been Jason, I WAS Jason and if not for fans and friends that support MY art, I could fall and become Jason again at any time. So often my fans send me little helpful things, but my art, share my struggles, change and save my life in big and small ways. It was my turn to change Jason's.
