ooohh GOD, poor Lawrence.... Poor guy just doesn't understand.

Not only is Lawrence secretly into it, but he's not even secretly into it. I'll get more into that, but until then, put a pin in it.

There's this pervert at work who's VERY into Lawrence, but it seems like Law isn't into... anyone or anything. He works alone, sits alone, eats alone, doesn't talk to anyone, maybe says five words a day, hardly interacts at all. However, he does do favors. He's tall, he knows he's tall, he knows he's tall and pretty strong, so it's usually Lawrence being called when they need something off the high shelves and don't have a stool/ladder.

That being said, this perv absolutely uses that to their advantage. Calls him over, yet doesn't move when he reaches over them. Enjoys the feeling of him brushing up against them. Likes seeing his stomach poke out from under his shirt. Uses this as an excuse to talk about his body, to hype him up in a weird way, to watch his face and see how he reacts to such grossness- to pat his back as a thanks just to feel him. Calling him strong, commenting on his waist, asking to feel his muscles, etc. They take advantage of a lot of situations. Any time they get to feel that mans ass or chest/stomach while passing by, they take it. Any time to grab his shoulders, touch his hair, say something out of pocket, they take it. And it makes Law shudder. And that doesn't even account for the, given, they're rare, texts he gets. "Going out for drinks. You coming?" "Careful tonight, Lawrence... The Christmas party is gonna have mistletoes!" "You looked good today. Lose weight? I got a weekly workout if you're ever curious!"

And Lawrence is disturbed. He fucking hates it. It's so gross, he doesn't like being perceived to begin with, so to be objectified? His eyes still hurt from rolling at their dumbass remarks like 'I'm going to lunch- are you on the menu :P ??', but the touching, the feeling, the bodies, that's a whole different ball-park. He needs a deep, deep shower every time he works with that fucker. He feels so exposed and downright fetishized sometimes. Has it made him cry before? Yeah. He hates walking into work and seeing them there. He's never more anxious than when working with them.

...B u t .

He gets to thinking. They never act like that with anyone else- not that he sees. It would be stupid to say they're not into him, but... he's never handled someone with a crush on him before... maybe this is normal? Maybe this is their way of asking him out? It's puzzling, he fucking hates it, but maybe it would feel less awful if he embraced them and their advances... Yes, that is the obvious solution. Why ask for protection when he could simply take control of the situation?

And suddenly, the tap MC was allowing to drip is spilling out. He can play, too. Lawrence suddenly feels very silly... He was so disgusted and worked up over what? So... he begins walking too close to them. Starts asking them if they need help with anything. Asks about them, now.

This is what couples do...

Not that he interacts much, but... he does sit with them. Follows them like a little duckling. Lets them put their hands on him. Puts his own hands on them. It doesn't matter now if they were only playing or teasing before. Now they're official!

Gets them alone.

Takes it too far.

Bram wasn't always....this. There was a version of him, younger, that was genuinely compelling. That specific kind of upper class charm that reads as sophistication rather than arrogance, even when it's both. Well dressed, well spoken, the kind of man who knew exactly how to hold a room without raising his voice. Old money ease. The sort of man who makes you feel like the most interesting person in the space simply because he chose to direct his attention at you.

But decades of unchecked cocaine, a truly staggering porn/snuff consumption habit, and a life completely insulated from anyone who would ever dare hold him accountable for a single thing he's done, that hollows a person out. Slowly, and what's left at fifty is the skeleton of that charm, something he can still pull on like a coat when the situation requires it, but he rarely bothers anymore.

Why would he?

He's got his money. His property. His legacy of kids scattered behind him. His swimmers are almost certainly staging a protest at this point and frankly that's nature doing the responsible thing.
