Harmandir Sahib is the iconic Golden Temple of India which is situated in Amritsar it is also known as ‘SIKHS HOLIEST CITY’. Amritsar was founded in 1577 by Ram Das, the fourth Sikh Guru, by a bathing pool with healing power. Sikhism is the 5th largest religion in the world, there are over 25 million Sikhs who live all over the world. The majority of Sikhs live in Punjab and Canada and few live in Asia, the UK, the USA. Identifying a Sikh is very easy men usually have a beard and they wear colourful turbans covering their head and women usually wear fancy Indian dress (salwar kameez) and cover their hair with beautiful dupattas very few women wear turbans on their head. I visited Amritsar in the month of December there are many places to visit there but the most incredible one which I always wanted to visit was Golden Temple. Since childhood, I have been watching this beautiful holy place in movies. Golden Temple of Punjab is the most incredible place to visit in India. It is always open, 24/7, and 365 days of the year. For Hindus and Sikhs, the Golden Temple is the holy place. But you know it doesn’t really matter if you are Hindu or Sikh this place is holy for each and every person.
