Fluff- Hello to a new friend

Gizmos POV

I booted up like I was supposed to and said my startup line to test my voice box: “Helloooooo! This is Gizmo speaking, welcome to the Megaplex!” My sensors picked up a voice—name and badge number—and I ran it through my system. Milo Miller. He’d been a Megaplex employee for about a year, and he looked exactly how I imagined someone in security would: blue-dyed hair, tired red-ringed eyes, and the overall vibe of an angsty teen who hated everything. “Nice to meet ya!” I chirped, full volume. “I have a feeling we’re going to be great friends! I have sooo many questions!” “We’re not friends, and we never will be,” he replied flatly. “I’m your guardian, and that’s it.” “Awww, you’re no fun,” I pouted, then grinned. “I’m calling you Warden. It suits you—you’re sooo boring.” He didn’t even flinch. “Sure. Whatever. I’m supposed to go over your schedule.” He opened a giant binder and read in the most monotone voice imaginable. “Your official introduction is Tuesday, then the rest of that week is dedicated to welcoming you. Yay.” “Oh YAY!! A whole week just for me? I’m unbelievably lucky to be part of this beautiful Megaplex!” I beamed, spinning once for effect. He blinked at me, probably trying not to cringe at how excited I was. “Okay then… I’ll show you around and get you to your room, I guess.” We walked out of the loading dock, and he led me on a lap around the Megaplex, which took about an hour and a half—including a stop at the construction zone for my very own play space, Gizmo’s Gizmos. He explained that it would be a place where kids could build and explore and grow their imaginations, and I honestly thought it sounded perfect. When we finally got to my room, he gave me a deadpan warning. “There are some Megaplex-enforced rules about what you can have or hang up in here.” “Oh, silly! I know that—I know everything about this beautiful place!” I said with the biggest smile I could manage. He stared at me. I stared back. My smile didn’t budge. “Uh… I’ll see you tomorrow, I guess?” he said awkwardly. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Warden! I can’t wait to learn alllll about you!”
