Praise to the Lord my God. My one god provides it all.
My baby guitar was a korean brand guitar - "O-bong". It cost me $299, after the discount from $379. A solid top guitar. I loved the way it looks and sounds ever since i first met it. It was love at first sight. My grandma bought it for me as my 21st birthday present. A really great gift.
Few days back, i kept it in my soft case and placed it against the wall like i had always done for the past 3 months. It suddenly fell faced down and cracked. Felt like crying, really. But no tears came.
I prayed to god and asked him for the impossible. I prayed for a free guitar, or an even better guitar. So that i can worship him with music pleasing to his ears.
Deep down, i know that it was impossible. The guitar cracked. Pay some money and fix it, or pay lots of money and get a new one. But i have no one but my god to turn to.
Few days later, my mum called the company, and to my surprise, and to any musicians' surprise, the guy said "OK, bring it. We will do a 1-for-1 exchange for you." Hallelujah! Who else but my god can bring such miracle?
But life is cruel my friends.. Due to many past incidents, i did not have much faith about it at all. Thinking that when i go down, they will just say that it was a miscommunication, there is no such thing as a 1-for-1 exchange for guitar when you broke it yourself, and your warranty is over. True enough, when i went down, they said the exact same thing to me and my mum.
I prayed to god, that in faith, i will believe that god is in control of the situation and that he will help me. Indeed, to my surprise again, the guy suddenly agreed, and let me do a 1-for-1 exchange. Not only that, he allows me to top up a few hundred dollars to get an even better guitar! The one i saw on the shelf, the best guitar that they have in store, was a FairClough guitar worth $699 after discount (original $899). Not only did they give me a further 20% discount, they round it down all the way to just $501 for my new guitar. When god promise to bless you, he bless you with the best. And he did bless me with the best guitar in the store. Not only does the guitar has everything that i need, by grace, he gave me a guitar that i don't deserve.
The guy even said that we can call all the instrument seller in the whole world, and we can never ever find any one who will do a 1-for-1 exchange for a guitar damaged by the user itself, moreover the 3 month warranty has been over for 20 days.
God knows my heart. He knows that i will never change my grandma's birthday gift for a better guitar despite wanting sounding guitar in future. He knows that i long for a guitar that is as good as one of the guitar in my church. He knows that i would feel bad having to spend so much money on upgrading my guitar. He hears my prayer and he loves me. He gave me more than I asked for and ta-dah!
