Guinness Goggles

Eventually the 10 amazing months of living in Ireland and traveling around Europe came to end.  It was exciting to go home and see friends and family.  But I had been bitten by the travel bug, so this blog is not done.  Stay tuned. :)

It was the end of October and it was the Bram Stoker Festival so the streets of Dublin were running with blood!

Finally, Riva and I met up for a final few days in Dublin.  Two of my favourite things about Dublin - Guinness and Oscar Wilde.

Beach Day #2.  Even the rain couldn’t keep me away.

Right next to Prestwick is another town called Ayr.  I discovered it on one of my walks.

Almost 2 years have gone by and I still have pictures I never posted.  And now I have started another overseas adventure.  Time to get caught up!  So here are some glimpses of Prestwick, Scotland.  I stayed here after my aunt and uncle left.  I was kind of trapped here and had to be very frugal.  My credit card was frozen due to some suspicious transactions.  My parents ended up having to book and pay for my flight back to Dublin so I could meet up with Riva for our final flight back to Canada.  It all worked out in the end and Prestwick was not a bad place to be stranded.  I had a relaxing few days, stayed in a lovely B&B, and spent hours at the beach.  Here are some shots of beach day #1.

After a couple of days in Glasgow, it was time for Mary Lee and Bob to go home.  As they flew back to Canada, I moved into a city to explore more of Glasgow on my own. 

I had a fun day at the Glasgow Science Centre!  It was on my bucket list of Children’s Museums.

Staying out of the city offered us amazing sunsets.

When we arrived in Glasgow we went to the Ingliston Country Club.  We stayed in a cute little cottage, surrounded by stables and horses.  It was like staying on a really fancy farm where posh people like to hang out.

We went on a boat tour around the Isle of Skye.  It was such a lovely sunny day.  I could have stayed our there for hours.

On the way to Skye we stopped at Eilean Donan Castle.  Scotland is full of old castles perfectly positioned on beautiful lakes!

The most breathtaking road trip of my entire time abroad was the drive from Loch Ness to the Isle of Skye.  Scotland is so beautiful!
