the goal in life is to be happy and to find someone who makes you happy and who you make happy. it could be anybody including people with depression. I think the common misconception is that being friends or dating somebody who is depressed is going to make you sad or scared but that's not true. being with someone who is struggling may require you to be there for them or to listen to them and maybe if they are really going through something severe to get them help but depression doesn't make up a person it's a piece of a person that in most cases isn't permanent. there's a person in there that can laugh and be there for you and be loyal as long as you are there for them and make them smile and they make you smile. so go make friends, and don't judge somebody by who they seem to be because you could help someone and someone could help you.
