Elizabeth Gilbert (known in the show as Miranda Gilbert) was a Guardian and member of the Celestial Court who defected in the late 15th century. Engaged in a romantic relationship with Katerina Petrova’s father, she is the birth mother of Katerina, and later gave birth to Elena and Jeremy Gilbert following her marriage to their father in the 1990s. Having died with her husband in a car crash, she would later resurrect and reunite with her family. A selective roleplay account, this character goes canon divergent following season four of The Vampire Diaries and is heavily headcanon based and book influenced.
