It might've been awkward? But Snake was willing to put up with it. He'd rather Shadow be kissing him, would rather be kissing Shadow, but he was alright with this so long as Shadow didn't just take off on him after coming to his senses (oh god, that was an awful thoughtāno, no this was fine; he wouldn't, anyway, right?). But Snake could be patient, could be whatever was needed at the time. Just⦠for the record, though, teeth would've been fine. Really. They might never have left the hall because things might've escalated, but. Teeth were okay.
Not so fine was Shadow looking away, but at least that looked more like flustering than regret or anything like that, going by the remaining attention. It was cute. ...Maybe not the best word, but it'd suffice until Snake found a better one.
But it'd be good to know they were roughly on the same page, just opposite sides of it, laterāthe whole āworried about things but wanting themā thing. But he could see that smile once he calmed down a little, pulse no longer deafening, and one formed in mirror on his own lips.
It was alright to not really be sure; they could fix that. It might take practise, but that was probably an acceptable price to pay for that knowledge. But that attempt? It hit its mark, at least, given Snake had much better context than he'd started with in this endeavour. āWouldn't want to break them.ā ...Shadow's was closer. Pretty sure. Couldnāt be bothered to check against the layout in his head, though. āWe should relocate them somewhere safer.ā
