The hummingbird guard chuckled and have him a small smile of reassurance. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll be careful, alright?” She reasoned as she looked up at him, her eyes darting around for only a brief moment in an assessment of the surrounding area– even if she had been here many times, with a prankster on the lose you could never be very sure. While they were in line she tore her eyes away from the selection of sweets (after all, she came here for a coffee flavors milkshake) and looked over to the broadcaster. “Mitsuru?” She questioned, not finishing her sentence as she cocked her head to the side and furrowed her brow. Pulling the last bit of what she was going to ask she finished the sentence: “are you okay?” She had to turn her head away however when she realized they were next to order, though she still wanted an answer from him. “Coffee milkshake, please.” She requested from the man behind the counter.
She took the milkshake in one hand and dug around in her pocket for her wallet, stopping and looking back at him with a surprised expression. “Honestly, Mitsuru, just go find us a place to sit and go ahead and eat. I’m paying anyways.” She chided as she waved him off to the sitting area and pulled out her wallet. Setting her things on the counter she easily got her debit card and moved to pay for their food. Looking down at what she has to eat she felt her own stomach ready to growl again and she hurried away from the line before it could, popping a piece of sushi into her mouth before she had even gotten 3ft away from the counter, hopefully so her stomach would be briefly appeased. “You’re right, I am very happy that I don’t have to give them back.” She confirmed as she shot a coy smile to him, shrugging her shoulders to move the headphones since her hands were too full to tap on them. Her coy smile turned to that of a sincere one in seconds though.
Mitsuru needed a moment to answer. He nodded carefully before he looked back at her. “I’lm fine”, he answered with a small smile. “Just heard something that felt… kinda strange to hear. But I bet it was just something not work related…” That must be it. There was no way the guys were talking about some story he knew. He almost convinced himself that he was right with it, but suddenly he heard one of the guards behind him something about suicide and he felt how his stomach began to cramp up. There was no way they were talking about the story with Kat and Hajime… That just couldn’t be.. For a few seconds he was unable to say something, then he just tried to laugh it off, what ended with a horrible, suffering noise. “I’ll… tell you when we sit…”, he just whispered, holding his Sushi and the Milkshake he ordered. He just knew Kotonoe noticed his change of behaviour.
The broadcaster nodded again. “I’ll wait at the table”, he said and walked over, avoiding another trip wire he just saw, nodding down to it to warn the hummingbird guard. At the table, he sat down and started to eat his Sushi before his stomach could cry again in hunger. That felt soooooo good to finally eat something. Maybe Kotonoe was right and she should take a look at him from time to time so he ate enough. He was really glad that she was around him today and even more that she enjoyed having his hat and the headphones so much. He felt really good when he saw her smiling.
For the longest time Kotonoe made no move to respond, but her lips were pursed and brows furrowed as she studied the Nanba announcer in front of her. She had no idea what it was that was affecting him like this, and made no more to push it further, waiting until they say down to be told what was wrong. Still, she was curious and had to bite back her tongue as she cocked her head before standing upright with her food and the card she had ready to pay for their meals. Thankfully she had her balance to keep them all from falling and crashing to the ground, making a mess if they would do so. She gave her nod of agreement though and let her eyes flicker over the people in front of her. A few visiting and a few guards, likely getting off shift or going on it soon enough. She could feel her phone buzz in her pocket but ignored it, her shift was over soon enough and her work for the day was done already, so it was most likely Mao sending her a message with an attachment of “Come clock out before you go back to your apartment.” Which she would do of course. Still, she had an uneasy feeling in her stomach as she tilted her head over to the broadcaster beside her. “Alright.” Kotonoe chimed and she flicked her attention back to him even as he walked away, trying to figure out where he would be sitting. At his mood downwards she made a mental note of the trip wire she figured he must mean and turned back to back for their meals. Nodding over and telling all that had been bought, getting the transaction done quickly as she pocketed her card and left the line to where she had seen Mitsuru disappear off to. Now that she was closer and actually paying attention she could see the trip wire and avoided it with ease, sitting across from Mitsuru with a smile as she hurriedly dug into her food, her stomach already agreeing with her choice. And honestly, she didn’t care of the looks she got from other guards if they saw her like this. She wanted food and she was gonna eat her food. Still, she flashed a smile to Mitsuru quickly before slowing down and taking a sip of her milkshake.
Mitsuru took a sip on his milkshake as well, before he finally found words to beging what was on his mind. “You… remember the female guard I told you about before, right? The one that commited suicide?” he asked, looking at his Sushi. His voice was unusual quiet and shaky, and he obviously didn’t want anyone to hear about that. “The guards behind us were talking about someone who commited suicide who used to work here… That was such a strange coincidence… But that’s not all… they said there was a letter found from that guard and that guard must be female because… “ The broadcaster needed a moment to breath. He tried to calm down but he was almost talking too fast to follow. “… because in the letter was written that she was pregnant…” Now that he actually said it, Mitsuru finally realized what that meant. If it was really about Kat, there were only two posibilities; Either she gave up on Hajime and ended up with someone else who got her pregnant, or she actually did sleep with Hajime, what would mean that he cared for her… Hajime wouldn’t sleep with someone he doesn’t like, Mitsuru knew that for a fact. The black haired felt like there was no hope left and he fought with the tears once again this day, but couldn’t help it and so his eyes started getting wet again. He couldn’t cry now. He wouldn’t want to make Kotonoe sad again… and he didn’t want her to worry. She did enough today. “So… yeah…”, he couldn’t say more words before his fake smile was fading and he started to bite his ower lip.
Kotonoe had made her way almost halfway through her sushi already before Mitsuru’s voice brought her back to reality. Looking up she stopped eating, noticing the look of unease on his face as she tilted her head in confusion, curiosity, and worry. She wasn’t that fond of the look on his face and it made her stomach sit uneasily. “Mitsuru?” She managed to skip out quietly, concern in her voice. Her stomach twisted violently as she listened. How many other female guards had been signed on here before anyways? None that could have had such a close resemblance to the old situation that had played out. Her worry grew more and she placed her hands on the table and leaned forward. She wanted to hear the rest of what he said before she made any move to help, to know the full story.
When she realized he would be saying no more on the topic she had to sit silently for a moment and think. Unsure exactly of how to react she gave him a sad gaze. She glanced around, not knowing if others would be looking at the two of them or listening before she leaned forward and tugged his arm to her own, squeezing his wrist securely as she tried to make sure he could see her. “Mitsuru, we can go somewhere else right now if you want to.” She offered, honestly not very sure what she could say at this point, though she tried to wrack her brain for some resemblance of a sentence that could be of use here. She lowered her head though, stomach still twisted in tight knots that made her almost feel sick in this moment. She knew that it couldn’t have been his fault if they were talking, and when she opened her mouth the next moment that was the exact opinion she voiced, low enough so no others would have heard her when she said it. She wanted to be of more use to him at this point, mind clouded with worry slowly as her grip on his wrist tightened in concern. His wavering voice, so different than normal, had probably been what struck the hummingbird guard the absolute most.
“I’ll be fine…”, he asured her, trying his best smile but giving up fast. “Leaving wouldn’t change anything and I want to spend the time with you this afternoon. I just need a moment to calm down. That’s everything..” He managed to stop himself from almost-crying and removes the sunglasses for a moment to rub over his eyes. He breathes deeply, one time, two times, before the broadcaster felt confident enough to word his thoughts. “The thing is just… if it really was Kat, what I believe, she had sex with someone. And I knew her well enough to know that she wouldn’t have a simple One-Night-Stand with someone. So either she found another boyfriend… Or she actually had something with Hajime… but I don’t get why she killed herself..” His voice was shaking a little, but he managed to explain without starting to speed through the sentences or break out in tears again. For a moment he looked down to his Sushi, quiet, then he took the milkshake to drink a little and then eating a bite or two to stop his stomach from its battlecry. He felt bad for causing worries again and he carefully took Kotonoes hand and kissed it. Right now he really didn’t care if anyone would see them or wuld start to talk behind their backs. Why should he even care. It was not like he was in a relationship with someone else and so he had no responsibilities. “I am so sorry… I make you sad and worry again… Are you really sure you would ever have a boyfriend like me?” He laughed a little and this time, it sounded honest.
“Alright, well, if you need a minute then take all the time you need. It’s fine. I can even come hangout after I clock out later after next shift change. So you have someone to talk to.” Kotonoe was set in what she said, but her voice was soft as she looked at the broadcaster “Really, I don’t mind hanging around, I worry about the people I care about regardless, So long answer short, yeah, I think I still would like to have you as a boyfriend,” her tone was light and teasing before it faltered and she went to address the next topic. “Now if it was Kat who they were talking about, why would they be waiting so long after she had gone to say it?” She made some kind of effort to comfort her friend as she squeezed his hand tighter. She had noticed of course when he kissed her hand, and while her mind darted to that, she brushed it off given the current situation. “Let’s just think it over for a moment, try to calm down. If it was then maybe someone will explain it a bit better later?” Kotonoe looked around at the surrounding people, ignoring a few eyes that were on the duo, before finally she looked back to Mitsuru.
Kotonoe drank some more of her milkshake as she looked back at the broadcaster. “So, I’ll say it again. Yes, I would still like to have you as a boyfriend.” In some sense, while she did have a light tone of voice, there was an honest undertone to it before she shrugged. “But hey, maybe that’s just me.”
She sat quietly again, stomach settled now that there was food inside of it, and despite it all, a small smile had worked onto her face. Though, when she cast her gaze back to their hands she looked up at him to see if he wanted her to stop. She would if she was asked to of course. Her thoughts were cut only a moment later when she found something blocking her vision. His hat had fallen over her eyes, and she flicked her head up so that it would sit better again and she could see.

@guard-kotonoe
Kotonoe found herself still caught in a haze in the back of her mind, a smile seemingly drawn onto her face after their kiss. She didn’t mean to get her hopes up, but maybe they were a bit more after it all had now passed. Her smile never fading, and the moment she heard Mitsuru’s stomach she found herself laughing instead, amused by the sound once more. “At least it didn’t do that while we kissed.” She hummed out as a small act of reassurance. However, she was sure the giddy tone was present in her voice as she spoke, not that she could really control it- or cared to-do at the moment. “We’re getting food here in just a bit.” She said, almost parroting what he had said back. And she could already hear the bustle of the food court from where they were. She didn’t make a move to take her hand from his as they approached. That would be up to him.
“Are you sure you want me around often enough for that to be common?” She asked with a teasing grin, though honest curiosity was laced into it when she did so. She was more than happy with that idea after all. And she wouldn’t mind a new place to hide out instead of going to building 2’s break room. It wasn’t always that fun in there after all. And she would much rather prefer to be there with Mitsuru than in some stuffy room. Not to mention the green tea and broadcaster would brighten her day. “I mean, I’ll glad you take you up on the offer.” Kotonoe insisted as she glanced back to him, noticing more people now as was common around the food court. Especially during shift change at the prison. A few guards here and there were ones she knew or had seen, no one she was buddy buddy with. Though, at any moment she would expect her building 13 friend to jump from the surrounding area with an arsonal of questions fired at the hummingbird guard.
Mitsuru walked to the food court with her, looking around for a bit who was present there and let out a sigh of relieve when he saw no one who would mind seeing him holding hands with someone. He walked further with Kotonoe, not thinking about letting go of her hand until he felt something on his foot. Before he even could take a look at what it was, he felt himself falling, landing on the cold hard ground the next second. The broadcater blinked a few times before even realizing he was sitting on the ground now, glasses falling down and his face mildly confused. “What… was that…?”, he mumbled while slowly getting back on his feet again, locating something like a thin tripwire on the ground. “Oh let me guess… That’s one of Tomato’s pranks again….” he sighed and rubbed over his elbow. It hurt a little. After he caught his breath again, he looked back to Kotonoe, slightly embarrassed. “Don’t worry, I’m fine”, he said, just in case she was worried.
After sorting his thoughts again, Mitsuru came back to the topic they were talking about. “I wouldn’t mind having you around on a dayly base~”, he admitted with a grin. “I’ll make sure there will always be enough green tea, a new chair so we don’t have to fight over my chair and maybe some snacks, but we’ll see about that~” The black haired announcer felt a few pair of eyes on him but he couldn’t say he wasn’t surprised. A few of the people around them were laughing, he could swear he heard Tomato’s laugh as well, and the other half of the peple seem to be worried if he was okay or not. He knew he must look odd right now, without hat and headphones.
Kotonoe stood in surprise a moment before she covered her mouth to hide the traces of a smirk that pushed and pulled at her lips. She was worried, and that was evident when she bent down next to him, eyebrow cocked and head tilted before she spoke - hoping that her trace of laughter would be well hidden from him when she did. “Mitsuru,” she cooed in playfully “might wanna be a bit more careful.” Kotonoe looked down at where the broadcaster had fallen and shook her head when she was light glint of the thin wire. “I’ll admit, I am a bit impressed with the fact they were able to set this up.” She mumbled, and even that was muffled by the sleeve of her jacket as she looked back to him, resting on one knee now as she looked at him. Yes, she was actually worried. She was very worried he was okay. But he seemed fine, a bit stunned, but fine. However, she had found it a slightly amusing thing to happen. Even if she wouldn’t admit it though, she was a bit annoyed that it had caused a break in there calm company (even if food may get them going) and the handholding to. It had made her happy, now she kind of wanted her own mini revenge. Or him to hold her hand again. Preferably the latter if the two options.
“You may just need to get used to me being around daily regardless.” She hummed as she glanced around and shot a few looks to guards or others being a bit more rude with their laughter, though her back was turned to Mitsuru when she did so. “Maybe that’s a good idea for the chair. Or you can sit in it and I’ll just sit on your lap. Kuu can find a new place.” She said with a chuckle as she turned back to him, finally uncovering her mouth as she slipped her hand into her pocket. For a moment she went silent before looking back to the broadcaster. “I know you said I could keep these until the end of the day, but are you sure that you don’t want them back now that there are more people around?” She questioned suddenly as she gave a tap on the plastic of the headphones in reference to them. She had been told she could keep the hat, she wasn’t about to give that back so easily. But if he wanted back the headphones she would hand them over.
“I’m really fine~”, he said softly, fixing the position of his clothes and checking if some dust on them. After he was sure he looked fine, he smiles again. “I should have been prepared for that. Tomato and I sometimes have a little like a prank-war going on, and I really wasn’t prepared, I must admit.” “That must have looked funny as hell, I can imagine~” he said, rubbing over his elbow again. He would get bruises from this, he was sure as hell. After a moment of calming down and mentally preparing himself for more pranks, he offered Kotonoe his hand again. “Mylady~”, he said with a gentle voice and smiled. “We’re both hungry so we should hurry, getting our Sushi~” He walks over with her to where the food was located, still feeling a lot of eyes on his back, but he didn’t care. He wouldn’t give Tomato the sadisfaction of reacting to the prank and the reaction of the people.
The broadcaster smiles widely at her. “Oh, I really don’t need long to get used to you I bet”, he chuckled and stretched a little while picking up some sushi that looked good to him. “And we could make a tower. You sit on my lap, Kuu on yours~ So is everyone happy, I guess~” He imagined for a moment how that must look for someone who just entered the room, seeing the little tower of two people and a cat and he had to laugh. “Amazing~” Mitsuru looked back to her, smiling. “I said you can keep them, so keep them. and I know you don’t want to give them back~”, he laughed softly. He really could see how happy she was, being able to wear them so he wouldn’t take that away from her. not yet~
Kotonoe brushed it off for a moment once he said he was okay again, though she still shot looks of annoyance to the people surrounding that seemed to let their eyes linger on the duo too long. Of course she made sure not to let Mitsuru see that much. She just found the bystanders actions and gazes to be a nuisance. If anything else they could at least mind their own business, couldn’t they? She though so. But she turned her attention back to the broadcaster with a sly smile. “Well, at least now we know there’s more of a chance for ones today.” She shined as she cocked her head at him, smirk on the edge of a smile as she did so. “But I’ll probably get caught up in one too.” She reasoned as she followed him to the food. “Also, I really want a coffee milkshake, so I can’t forget that.” She said as she got her own sushi, looking around to see where the line for the frozen sweets would be. Thankful that the line was almost non existent today. She hadn’t wanted to wait around in that for the rest of her craving. Her stomach let out a low growl and she rolled her eyes. She had her food, she just had to eat it now– after she retrieved a milkshake.
“I think that would be a pretty good compromise.” She added to his statement, smile and laugh half-heartedly hidden in her words. The ghost of her smile already twitching into the corners of her mouth. “At least, I could certainly her used to it, then you wouldn’t have to get another chair. Though, if you do, I won’t be making any complaints about it.” She offered as she looked up at him, grin wide now and no longer hidden by any attempts. She let out a small hum of happy approval in keeping the headphones for now. “Good, because I wasn’t to happy at the thought of giving them back yet,” she sheepishly admitted to him. Kotonoe’s hands went back and tapped the headphones for what seemed to be the 100th time, and maybe she had made a habit already out of doing exactly that. Not that she really noticed the action when she did it. She did however let the hat far over her eyes before she tilted her head back, slipping the guard cap back into place.
“Just be careful, okay?”, he didn’t ask for much, but Mitsuru didn’t want her to get hurt so she needed to watch out a little, otherwise she probably would fall as well, and he really didn’t want that. He waited with Kotonoe in that almost non-exsisting line for the frozen Goods as he heard two other guards talking about something that caught his attention. He couldn’t understand much, but he was really sure he heard the word ‘pregnant’ and ‘abortion’. He had an awful feeling in his stomach but he couldn’t even tell why. He didn’t know anyone who was pregnant… Or did he? But no, that wasn’t possible. Kazari couldn’t be pregnant, same for Kagu-8, even if it was for different reasons. And Miss Hyakushiki… No! Absolutely not. If there would be something, he would know. Maybe the guards were just talking about something from their home, that must have been the case. He took a deep breath and looked over to the milkshakes he could have and it doesn’t even take a second for him to decide that it should be strawberry this time. It just looked soooooo good~
“I’ll think about getting another chair~”, he said, more relaxed again as he took out the milkshake and waited for her to take hers as well. He was really hungry and all he wanted was to pay and eat now, before his stomach- It was too late and the noise his stomach made could be compared to the volume of his voice. His cheeks turned deep red as he tried to hide his face somehow. “That… indeed was loud…”, he laughed, now finally realizing that it was not only because he fell that everyone was staring at him but the hickey on his neck was more than obvious since he wasn’t wearing his headphones. But he didn’t really care. “I knew you won’t be happy about giving them back~”, he laughed softly.
The hummingbird guard chuckled and have him a small smile of reassurance. "Yeah, yeah, I'll be careful, alright?" She reasoned as she looked up at him, her eyes darting around for only a brief moment in an assessment of the surrounding area-- even if she had been here many times, with a prankster on the lose you could never be very sure. While they were in line she tore her eyes away from the selection of sweets (after all, she came here for a coffee flavors milkshake) and looked over to the broadcaster. "Mitsuru?" She questioned, not finishing her sentence as she cocked her head to the side and furrowed her brow. Pulling the last bit of what she was going to ask she finished the sentence: "are you okay?" She had to turn her head away however when she realized they were next to order, though she still wanted an answer from him. "Coffee milkshake, please." She requested from the man behind the counter.
She took the milkshake in one hand and dug around in her pocket for her wallet, stopping and looking back at him with a surprised expression. "Honestly, Mitsuru, just go find us a place to sit and go ahead and eat. I'm paying anyways." She chided as she waved him off to the sitting area and pulled out her wallet. "You're right, I am very happy that I don't have to give them back." She confirmed as she shot a coy smile to him, shrugging her shoulders to move the headphones since her hands were too full to tap on them. Her coy smile turned to that of a sincere one in seconds though.

“Pay me in cuddles and food and you’ve got yourself a deal.” She added as she looked up at him with a tilted head and cocked eyebrow, smirk growing. It was a fun thought, and honestly, who was she to pass up on the offer? No one, that’s who. Especially not from Mitsuru. “I can make you a pretty cool crane design though.” She insisted as she locked her arms behind her head and looked forward once more. “Hey, we can go, say we’ve been, do at least one stupid and crazy thing while we’re there. Then we can come back. There we have it, a vacation in LA.” She reasoned as her grin grew even wider. The thought was more than just amusing to her. It was hilarious. Who knew what kind of odd thing she’d end up doing. Which brought her mind back a moment, “and on that note, don’t let me handle the money then.”
“Well, if that is the case, I guess I will have to start making trips to your office, or start calling to double check.” She threatened as she looked up at him once more. “Honestly, you really do need food.” She chided as she shook her head lightly and moved her hands to her hips. Tapping her foot down twice when she did so, though she kept walking.
She was confused as first to say the least. She hadn’t really expected that regardless of the situation. But she wasn’t about to turn it down either. Slowly she shook her head no to his question. She wouldn’t be mad, only surprised. For a moment she contemplated stepping away, before they got caught, but her body knew better in this case and stayed in place. Her cheeks flushed red once more and she found herself unable to speak at the moment when she looked at him.
Mitsuru laughed. “Okay, cuddles and food it is~” he agreed and stretched a little more before walking further to finally get some food in his belly. “Something crazy… yeah. Like getting married?” he joked with a wide grin. “I mean, it’s what most people do there and regret later, isn’t it?” At least he thought it was, but he wasn’t 100% sure about that. Maybe it was a different place where that used to happen. We would look that up again. Not because he would actually want to get married there, just because he was curious now and it bothered him to not know.
“I’m looking forwart to it~”, the broadcaster said, smiling. “There’s nothing like good company while enjoying a snack, isn’t it~?” He imagined sitting in the office, talking and laughing with Kotonoe and eating snacks while drinking coffee or tea. It was a relaxing thought. “I just can’t say no to you, snacks, food and a good pick of tea~”, he laughed softly. “Or coffee, whatever you like more~”
Mitsuru hasitated a moment before placing both hands on her cheeks and closing his eyes slowly. He was well aware of what he was about to do and he also knew that it must confuse the hummingbird guard since he told her that he was in love with Hajime just half an hour ago, but he couldn’t help it. The moment seemed so perfect and he felt like it was the right thing to do. Carefully he placed the kiss on her lips, warm and gentle while he was wrapping his arms around her, holding her tight and warm. He really was a great kisser, no question about it. It felt like forever, untill he finally made a step back, as good as he could with the back to the wall and opened his eyes again.
“Yeah, as far as I know you’re thinking of it right.” She said as she laughed to herself. She had looked it up at one point a few years back, but she wasn’t always sure if she could remember it 100% correctly at the moment. Her stomach gave a low growl and she swore she felt the entirety of her bowl system drop without warning the moment it was over. And she did was frown as she set her hand over her stomach. It was such a pain to deal with.now that she thought about it, it had been this whole time, but she was more than happy to walk with Mitsuru, so she didn’t entirely mind the wait. After all, would have been the same amount of time, maybe. She knew that much at least.
“Well, I may have to live off coffee when I come over on my free time.” She reasoned before tilting her head in thought, vision blurring though she made no attempt to fix it at first. When she came up with what she wanted to say- as it had left her mind- she looked up to him and smiled. “Unless you have green tea, then I’ll take green tea.” Alright, maybe she had a slight addiction to it when she was tired, for some reason it was only then she always wanted it. Other times she was more likely to drink it if it was there, unless there was honey. Then people should watch out.
For a moment Kotonoe did nothing, only stood and waited. Though, she thought he could feel the heat coming off her cheeks once his hands were placed over the burning red tinging her skin. She still hasn’t fully gathered the fact he had asked, but seeing him close her eyes she moved to take a step closer herself, maybe almost I patiently. When she finally felt the connection she stood still for only a second before practically melting into the contact- she was happy no one was around to see it, she couldn't keep up her serious air after this. She kissed back, and while she did try to control herself, she knew some part of it may have seemed aggressive, maybe with how she had pushed forward, or her stance now. But she paid no mind to it as he pulled away. She didn’t say a word, her cheeks flushed as she looked up at him with hooded eyes and lips parted on instinct. Maybe she would have tried to cover her face normally, but she didn’t mind it right now.
Mitsuru walked with her, well aware of his own stomach pain, but still ignoring it and all the noises it did. He indeed was annoyed by it, but he also didn’t mind tat much since he was with Kotonoe. “We can eat something soon~”, he said softly, taking her hand slowly and a little shy. He wasn’t sure himself why he liked to be close to her so much right now but it just felt right, also he felt like it made the whole situation with Hajime much easier. He felt like he could finally breath free again.
The broadcaster smiled softly. “Actually, I have green tea and matcha pouder at my office, so yeah~ Whatever you want, you can have it. Of course coffee as well~” He didn’t even know why he had that green tea, since he wasn’t able to make it right. Always he tried it, it got bitter. And he didn’t like bitter tea that much. “If you tell me what ele you like, I would get some more tea and drinks, since I expect you to come around more often~”
Mitsuru also didn’t know what to say for a moment, deep red cheeks and eyes looking over the frame of his glasses, directly into her eyes. He wanted more, that was neither a secret nor hard to say, given that his eyes were literally begging for more kisses. But he wasn’t brave enough to ask for more right now, knowing that it might make him look bad, kissing someone who he’s not in love with. The black haired looked away for a moment, but couldn’t for long. He felt magically drawn to Kotonoe’s eyes. “Sorry…”, he whispered breathless.
“Yeah, it isn’t that much further now.” She replied as she looked on, squinting as if she could see it any faster. Though, with how large it was, she really wouldn’t have had to do that to see it. Or even hear it, regardless of the transit system, everything would be bustling around there anyways. She glanced down when she felt something hold her hand and tilted her head at the sight. However, she made no move to take away her hand, only relaxed as she looked forward once more and kept walking. Instead, she tightened her own grip as well.
“With how indicisve I can be? I’ll just bring my own, don’t worry.” She assured as she gave a small shrug to it. After all, there was always some snack or candy stored in the pockets of her uniform, that was for sure and something she could deny– especially after she had gripped one time and more than a handful of hard candy scattered everywhere. “Still, I’ll probably come by and drink all of your green tea, or when I can that is.” She warned with a small chuckle.
Kotonoe didn’t bother to avert her own eyes as she looked up at him, a smile etched on her lips again at the sight of his eyes– she really did like them. But she was silent at first, unsure of what to say after what had just happened. She honestly didn’t know where all her courage had come from, but it was probably gone now. She honestly felt a bit unsteady, and caught off guard after kissing him. When she has finally registered what he said she shook her head: “don’t be. I said you could. And I liked it anyways.” She said before she stopped herself from rambling and went quiet once more, her eyes not leaving his.
Mitsuru needed a moment until he was able to talk again after the kiss. He walked next to Kotonoe, holding her hand with still really red cheeks. Even though his heart was racing like mad, he felt the hunger coming up again and it was really time to eat something before- And it was too late. His stomach made another really loud noise and he couldn’t help but blush more and feel really ashamed. “Good thing we’re almost there…”, he whispered embarrassed and looked away. “Otherwise I’d end up with even worse cramps…”
“Maybe I just should get a cupboard just for you so I can put snacks and tea there for when you come over and visite me~”, he laughed softly. It wasn’t even that much of a joke since the really thought about that idea. It wasn’t like he needed all the space he had in the control room/office of his so he really could do that. Also that would give Kotonoe something personal around him. He didn’t know if that was important for her, vut he knew from himself that it always felt good, knowing that there was something that belongs to only oneself. “And don’t worry about the green tea. I wouldn’t drink it all so it’s not a big problem if you drink it.” The broadcaster smiles at her, still unable to get the red away from his cheeks.
Kotonoe found herself still caught in a haze in the back of her mind, a smile seemingly drawn onto her face after their kiss. She didn't mean to get her hopes up, but maybe they were a bit more after it all had now passed. Her smile never fading, and the moment she heard Mitsuru's stomach she found herself laughing instead, amused by the sound once more. "At least it didn't do that while we kissed." She hummed out as a small act of reassurance. However, she was sure the giddy tone was present in her voice as she spoke, not that she could really control it- or cared to-do at the moment. "We're getting food here in just a bit." She said, almost parroting what he had said back. And she could already hear the bustle of the food court from where they were. She didn't make a move to take her hand from his as they approached. That would be up to him.
"Are you sure you want me around often enough for that to be common?" She asked with a teasing grin, though honest curiosity was laced into it when she did so. She was more than happy with that idea after all. And she wouldn't mind a new place to hide out instead of going to building 2's break room. It wasn't always that fun in there after all. And she would much rather prefer to be there with Mitsuru than in some stuffy room. Not to mention the green tea and broadcaster would brighten her day. "I mean, I'll glad you take you up on the offer." Kotonoe insisted as she glanced back to him, noticing more people now as was common around the food court. Especially during shift change at the prison. A few guards here and there were ones she knew or had seen, no one she was buddy buddy with. Though, at any moment she would expect her building 13 friend to jump from the surrounding area with an arsonal of questions fired at the hummingbird guard.
@guard-kotonoe

@guard-kotonoe
“keep it on for the whole day? Why, I’d be absolutely flattered for you to do that.” The guard chimed with a playful and fer too overdramatic tone. The wide Cheshire grin on her face easily revealing it all. Really, she doubted she could be very serious about it at all. “I guess I really will have to make it a good design then.” She added, content with the thought. “Well, when you find it I need to see it,” she stated, emphasizing the word ‘need’, as though it was a life and death situation. “If I can find my sketchbook ever in the clutter that is my closet, then I’ll come show you some of my own designs.” She said before grinning deviously, “or I can redraw them on your face.” She offered.
Kotonoe couldn’t stop the laugh that followed soon after she heard it. “Alright, I think your stomach demanding it even more than mine is.” She insisted as she looked up at him, patting her own stomach as she spoke. “I’m sure to get a growl of rebellion soon though.” She assured as she poked her stomach and lowered her hand, slipping it back into her uniform pocket. “And good, because I wholeheartedly intend to keep them a bit longer.” She admitted as she played with the brim of the hat. At hearing he had another she perked up. “Really?” She asked as she got a firm grip on the brim of it. “Don’t tempt me of you don’t mean it, I may actually try to take your hat.” She warned truthfully. she may actually try to take the guards hat if he would let her. Though the questions she would get after she was unsure of completely.
“You better do exactly that.” She chided as she looked up at him, a worried look traced in her eyes- something she was t sure could he seen or not. The thought of it all left a bad taste in her mouth for more than one reason, and she’d rather not dwell on the reasons. “I’ll bring over anything you need.” She confirmed as she shrugged. “I’ll probably have all my paperwork done by then as is.” To say Kotonoe was proud of the state she had left the broadcaster in was an oversimplified version of the truth. The moment he nodded though a smile had gonna back to her face and she moved her hand up, ready to stop if asked before she tucked it away past the opening of his shirt and began to mess with his piercings. She may as well, as pay back for her sides- even if she hadn’t minded it truthfully. Sue went back to wrong on his neck now though, not bothering to watch her canine teeth as she bit down on the bruise forming because of her. Or for a better term, the hockey on his neck now. Visible to anyone who saw him. And she was proud of that.
Mitsuru grinned widely. “Be careful, you might stard a new trend with this. Imagine, everyone wants to run around with eyeliner on their face. But well, if they pay you for it, that would be another thing to get more money for our vacation to LA” He was joking again but actually the idea was kinda fun. “But yeah, I know, without gambling. We won’t lose all the money, I promise” He obviously had fun with that idea. “But seriously, I would wear it the whole day if I like it~” Mitsuru was thinking for a moment where he left his book with the graffity designs. It wasn’t in the locker, that was for sure. But it also wasn’t at his apartment. He was looking for something else a few days ago and if he had found it there, he would remember. “Oh, I really would love to see your drawings. Maybe I’ll let you draw a tattoo design for me~”
“Let’s just head over and get some food~”, the broadcaster laughed softly while his stomach let out another, rather loud battlecry of hunger. “I seriously don’t want to lose my stomach because it’s eating himself” The thought was quiet horrible, but also really funny. “And yes, you could actually keep my hat as long as I don’t destroy the second one I own. And if it happenes, I will somehow get a new one from Hyakushiki, I’m sure. So… Yeah, keep at least the hat. But if someone asks, it’s just borrowed, okay?” He stretched a little, before his stomach became vocal again. “Oh for gods sake…”
Mitsuru needed a moment to come back to senses, before he felt her hands messing with his piercings and his mind went blank again. He couldn’t stop himself from moaning this time, but presses one hand against his mouth instantly. Almost begging he looked into her eyes, cheeks as red as cherries by now. He couldn’t say he didn’t like it, but there was still the fear of getting caught by someone who shouldn’t see them like this. “Stop…”, he whispered softly.
“So we’re back to the LA idea?” She missed as she cocked an eyebrow and looked at him, a grin tugging at the corner of her mouth. She ignored it however as she tilted her head lazily to look at him. “I mean, if they want me to start drawing, I’d be more than happy to do that.” She assured with a slay smirk. “The more money the better, I’ll be honest here.” She reason before turning her attention back to where she was walking, careful in case she started to trip up. the idea of it all was more than a bit amusing to her however, something she would admit if asked by anyone. Still, her cheeks were starting to hurt she she forced herself further to fight down the small smile, trying to give her little facial muscles a bit of a rest at least. At the mention of drawing him a tattoo, Kotonoe locked her attention back onto him from where she was walking and looking for others. “Hm, maybe a crane?” She wondered as she looked up at him, not bothering to fight back the smile by now. She would just have to deal with the muscles by now. “I mean, possibly.” She offered before her eyes flicked back in front of her and to the walkway. She shook her head though, pulling off the hat for a moment to shake back some hair that had fallen forward, then placing it back.
“No one wants to lose their stomach from that.” She added back in a joking tone as she looked at him with amusement once more. “Honestly though, I don’t think you’ll have much of a chance to stop it.” She observed as she flashed a quick and bright smile to him. Her stomach had thankfully quieted with it’s own antics and she didn’t think that their would be much sound from it for a bit longer. She hoped at least. When it was mentioned she could keep his hat her face broke out into a much bright smile this time as she pulled the brim of it down lower. “I’ll make sure they believe I’m just borrowing it.” She assured as she looked at him from under it, orange eyes sparking when the light hit it. At hearing his stomach again she laughed and turned on her heel, poking his stomach before clicking her tongue, “I’ll have to make sure you eat.”
She picked up on his moan, and a well up of pride was in her chest over it now as she worked. She flicked her eyes up to him though to try and see his reaction. A smirk still etched into her face as she did so. Her own breath was off, but she payed no mind to it at first. Then she heard what he has said and her actions came to a halt as soon as she processed it. She pulled back and looked at him, covering her mouth with her arm as glanced away embarrassed. “Sorry, I got a bit carried away there, didn’t I?” She admitted as she looked back to him. She could already see where her work was paying off, and she had to keep her arm where it was to hide the smile on her lips over it.
Mitsuru laughed slightly. “I’m sorry, I just can’t let go of that idea~”, he explained with a grin and stretched a little bit as he walked next to her. He actually felt pretty good right now, even if his stomach still tried to eat itself, but that was something they were working on. For a moment he was thinking about the tattoo, nodding slightly. “That idea doesn’t sound so bad. If you’re really willing to draw a design for me, I’d love to see your idea~” “I already had a lot ideas for new tattoos, but I never managed to get what I wanted until I didn’t want it anymore. Maybe it was for the best that I couldn’t get them back then.”
The back haired man walked with her, smiling and seemingly relaxed. “I’m really not surprised that my stomach is acting up like this. I mean, it’s almost a day since I ate last. That is the longest I ever was without eating something I think. As a child I always was eating something~” he mentioned and looked around, curious if there were more people around them now, but it was still rather empty. He wondered where everyone was. Did he miss something and there was a meeting or something? But that wasn’t possible. Kotonoe wasn’t aware of something and Hajime would have give him a call if he had missed something. He was really happy that the hummingbird guard was so excited about his hat and he didn’t even know why. It was just a hat. Just work uniform and yet it hade her smile.
The broadcaster shook his head a little, still really red. “It felt… kinda good…”, he mumbled, trying to cover his face wirh his hat at least a little, but failing. He needed a moment to calm down his breathing. “It really… did” Boy was he glad that no one saw them. His heart was still racing and he was afraid she could see or even hear it. For another moment, he just stood still, looking at her with a dreamy face. He wasn’t sure what to say or do, but he couldn’t stop himself from smiling. “I… hope you enjoyed it too…”, he whispered, shyly placing one hand on her cheek, looking into her eyes.
“Well” Kotonoe started as she turned all of her attention to him “maybe I could draw up a design or two. I do like the crane idea a good bit, after all.” She reasoned, a smile etched upon her features as she tapped her finger on her jaw in thought. She moved from tapping her jawline to tapping the ear piece of the headphones, satisfied with the click she heard as painted nails met plastic. “I mean, L.A. sounds like a fun vacation, minus all of that traffic that I guess is over there. And the drought.” She said as she looked up at him, mouth pursed in thought. She really did like the rain after all, and she heard they didn’t get much. “I may actually have to take a vacation there one year though. If even just to say that I have been.” She looked up at him after she spoke in case he had anything else to say.
She gave another grin and tug on the hat that had belonged to him, and which she now planned to keep with her. “Ya know, I should just start checking in on you more often. To make sure you eat. Or have eaten. Etc..” Kotonoe said as she raised a brow up at him, hand on her hip and weight tilted to him. “I mean, you kind of need it to function.” She said as she clicked her tongue, though the concern was evident in her expression and in her tone. She looked around once she decided to look away from him, even glancing to her phone which she had received more messages from her friend. With a playful grin she sent one more message- telling of her new hat, though no details of who’s it had been were given- and let him play with the new information. She contemplated snapping a photo of her and Mitsuru together, but considering the recent ones of the broadcaster in their messages, she decided against doing so.
Her face was more than flushed red, and her eyes were still half lidded before she closed them fully and took a breath. She had done so to try and calm her nerves, and when she was sure they were more tamed than previously, she looked up at him with a small and flustered grin. “I more than enjoyed doing that.” She admitted, some form of confidence to her words as her smile turned sly for a moment more. The moment his hand made contact with her cheek though, her gaze softened and she leaned her head into his touch and closed her eyes. “I hope I made an impression by it too.” She added as she looked up at him once more.
“I also really like the idea”, Mitsuru admitted as he walked close to her, watching her with a smile. No matter what he did, he wasn’t able to get that grin from his face. It was just too relaxing to walk with Kotonoe and don’t have to think about anything work-related for a while. “I bet you’ll do an awesome job drawing the design. And I could pay you with cuddles~” He was joking around, even if he actually concidered doing that. If Kotonoe liked it of course. “Yeah, I heard L.A. is rather hot and dry…” he remembered, tapping his jawline while thinking. “I prefere areas with a little more rain as well but it’s still worth a visite, I guess~”
For a moment the broadcaster was quiet, walking next to her and just listening to the noises around them. He was kinda curious who she wrote but he didn’t want to ask. If it was important for him to know, she would tell him. If it wasn’t, he shouldn’t bother asking. “Maybe that would be the best. Sometimes I just forget to eat and drink enough and end up with headache and such..” That was also a reason why he was so tired in the evening and didn’t enjoy going to parties that much. But when he was there, celebrating with others, he got in a better mood, drank and ate something and then began enjoying it~
Mitsuru nodded, still really red. “It felt great for me…”, he whispered, still looking deep into her eyes. For a moment he wasn’t able to say something, looking for the right words before he opened his mouth just to close it again. He looked away shortly before he finally was able to get out what he wanted to say. “Would you… be mad if I kiss you…?”, he asked, barely understandable.
"Pay me in cuddles and food and you've got yourself a deal." She added as she looked up at him with a tilted head and cocked eyebrow, smirk growing. It was a fun thought, and honestly, who was she to pass up on the offer? No one, that's who. Especially not from Mitsuru. "I can make you a pretty cool crane design though." She insisted as she locked her arms behind her head and looked forward once more. "Hey, we can go, say we've been, do at least one stupid and crazy thing while we're there. Then we can come back. There we have it, a vacation in LA." She reasoned as her grin grew even wider. The thought was more than just amusing to her. It was hilarious. Who knew what kind of odd thing she'd end up doing. Which brought her mind back a moment, "and on that note, don't let me handle the money then."
"Well, if that is the case, I guess I will have to start making trips to your office, or start calling to double check." She threatened as she looked up at him once more. "Honestly, you really do need food." She chided as she shook her head lightly and moved her hands to her hips. Tapping her foot down twice when she did so, though she kept walking.
She was confused as first to say the least. She hadn't really expected that regardless of the situation. But she wasn't about to turn it down either. Slowly she shook her head no to his question. She wouldn't be mad, only surprised. For a moment she contemplated stepping away, before they got caught, but her body knew better in this case and stayed in place. Her cheeks flushed red once more and she found herself unable to speak at the moment when she looked at him.

She really did like the rain after all, and she heard they didn't get much.

"Oh." She said quietly as she tilted her head with a small and warm smile and looked up at him. She hesitated a moment before wrapping her arms around him tightly as well and buried her head into his chest. "Thank you, Mitsuru." She hummed contently in response as she relaxed in his hold, eyes closed as she did so and let out a sigh.@nanbas-noise-problem
