“We can certainly try.” Mary joked meeting his gaze with a smirk. “Wait, you mean you actually have some skills? And here I thought you were just relying on your good looks.”

“You’ve seen me on the quidditch pitch, Macdonald.” He began, referring to his very obvious skill. “I don’t believe for a second that you think I had none.” A knowing smirk grew on his lips, and her next comment about his looks caused him to tilt his head slightly. “I knew you fancied me.” He joked. 

Mary gave a simple shrug of her shoulders as she grinned at him. “Well, it’s not my fault you never listened. Anyone else would have thought that you’d have learned your lesson.”

“Have you even known me to listen?” James asked, a smile playing on the corner’s of his lips as he met her gaze. “It’s just out of character, Mares.” The wizard shrugged. “And don’t even get me started on learning lessons.”

Peyton had been too nervous to sit around waiting, so instead she had chosen to arrive to her date a little bit early and give her the opportunity to scope the place out. Sitting at her table, nervously picking at her cuticles she kept glancing up every time the door opened. It had been about ten minutes when the Witch heard a familiar voice causing her eyes to widen and a sheepish smile to pull at her lips. “It’s nice to know that we aren’t complete failures at picking our own dates then.” 

James laughed lightly, sliding into the seat opposite her. “Did you really think we were complete failures? I didn’t think I was that bad.” He joked with his ex-girlfriend. “You look great, by the way.”

James had really only signed up to this thing as a joke, and on the off chance that it was successful, at least he’d get a good date out of it. Told to make his way to a restaurant just outside of town, he walked in and informed the waiter of his reservation. Directed to his table, his gaze fell on a very familiar brunette. A smile found its way to his lips. “Well, their algorithm isn’t too bad.” He said with a light chuckle.
