"You’re sense of humor is truly something." Emma rolled her eyes before she fixated her look on Marlene again. "10 points off Gryffindor for you being out of bed after curfew. Get back to your dorm now or there will be more points taken."

"And your sense of humor is non existing," She said dryly. Marlene narrowed her eyes at her, crossing her arms. "Oh would it kill you to not be such a vain pain once in a while?"

"Shouldn’t you?" Rita responded, turning to face the other blonde fully. 

"Hey, I asked you first," Marlene said with a shrug because that's definitely the mature answer.

I did ask myself. And now I'm asking you.

"Shouldn’t you be the one in bed, Miss McKinnon?" Emma replied, raising one perfectly sculpted blonde eyebrow as she crossed her arms.  "I’m a prefect and doing rounds and you’re definitely my partner for rounds."

"Pfft, no, the late life was made for me," Marlene shrugged, leaning against a wall. "Oh easy there, Vanity. I apologize for not having your rounds schedule memorized."

"Oh, I was. I’m just on my way to get food.

"No no," She shakes her head, a small grin stretching on her lips, "Its not where you were going. It's where you're coming from."

"Baby," he started in a honeyed tone, throwing his arm around her shoulders airily. "I sincerely thought we are past this curfew thingy. Anyway, what are you going to do, tell mum?"

"Baby," She imitates his tone, "Apparently you thought wrong. And yes I am. Unlike you, I am not a disappointment to her. You can definitely expect a Howler."

\That’s my line.

Well I just stole it.

"There’s no way I’m getting into my bed until I clean that mess up. That’s why I’m out here- trying find something to clean all that gunk up with." Dirk pulls a face at that, "That made it sound gross. It’s not gross, I swear. Actually melted Jelly Slugs are pretty gross, but you know it’s not gross gross.” 

"I don't even want to-" she started to say before pausing an shaking her head. "Wait, what, no. I always want to know. Tell me everything." Marlene raised an eyebrow, "What, exactly is gross gross then?"

"As much as I love and adore my father, I really do to bits and pieces, having him at school is still something I’ll just … have to get used to. At least we’ll be able to have more time together.”

"Yeah I know," Marlene agreed with a nod, "I mean I can't even imagine what it would be like if my dad was here." She then laughed, looking out at the lake from their spot by a tree. "Well I do think he'd spend 99.7% of his time trying to stop me from getting in trouble. 

"Don’t bother me from doing my homework, please."

"Oh hey, I didn't know you could read with the book on your head. Let me guess, are you just hoping everything from that book will magically be transported in your non-existent brain?" She shook her head, taking a seat next to James. "They don't let you do that spell here at Hogwarts, James." Marlene pulled out the cigarette from between his fingers, "Your mother said you needed to quit."

Mary heard the “boo” and she slid off the bench rolling to the floor, a strange reflex she developed do to her brothers sneak attacks. She waved her arms waiting for someone to throw something at her or jump on her but when she saw a flash of curly blonde hair she stopped and sat criss cross on the floor crossing her arms pouting. “Marlene, don’t do that. It’s not nice. Mad woman you are.”

Marlene looked down at her friends before bursting out laughing, "Couldn't resist," She said with a grin as she sat down on the ground next to Mary. "What's up Blondie? Why the sad face?"

I’m pretty sure that’s not the right way to do this

"Please," Marlene rolled her eyes, "What doe it matter if I add the Aconite Fluid before the African Sea Salt?" The words were barely out of her mouth before the potion turned an ugly green color and started to bubble. "Okay. It matters."
