Grump.

          Pause. He’d run out of things to say. He was never good at making people feel better, and now he couldn’t even help his best friend through this break-up.

Arin listened as Danny spoke and watched his friend's facial expressions. What had he done to deserve this kind of treatment? He was always kind of an ass, in his opinion anyway, and had never offered words like this to Dan. Everyone always said that Dan was the nicest guy they knew, he always agreed, but it wasn't until today that he truly saw the extent of the truth in that statement. "Dan..." He could barely speak at this point. His eyes met his lanky partner's pair and he stepped forward to embrace him. Arin's arms snaked themselves around Dan's small waist and his chin rested upon his shoulder. "What the fuck did I do to deserve someone like you in my life?" He chose to not use the word friend at this juncture because he wasn't quite sure if that was all they were now. "I love you, man."

          Dan’s smile widened, { If you want me to, then sure. } He replied, choking back giggles that threatened to tumble out. His face burned, he was never good at romance, but there was no heading back now. He simply stared at the other, head bending down so their noses met.

The seriousness of Dan's reply almost sent Arin into hysterical laughter. He clenched his teeth to block unwanted laughter. "Hell yeah, man, I wanna be wined and dined before you get all of this." He somehow maintained his jovial tone. "I mean, it's really the least I deserve."

          Dan Walked in silence behind Arin for a few minutes, still in shock of how direct Suzy could be. Other than this point, he had to say she’d always seemed to cheery, at least around him she was. He didn’t know how she acted with others. Finally, he sped his gate to stand next to the other, eyes glancing over to look at the other before speaking in a soft tone, { Arin, I’m so sorry… }

"For what, man?" Arin was managing a strong demeanor only by the grace of God at this point. He felt like he had been ripped to shreds. He held his keys tightly enough in his hand that it caused him physical pain. He knew they should leave but he couldn't quite bring himself to get into the car. "You didn't do anything, this is all on me." He looked Dan in the eye with a blank expression. "I'm the one who fucked everything up. I kissed you, I ruined my marriage, and now I'm homeless. I did all of that. My actions led to my situation and I'm fucking terrified." He spoke candidly as sadness flickered across his face. "I'm terrified that I fucked our friendship up, I'm terrified that I may have given us something more than friendship, and I'm terrified of not having her anymore." He knew his words might hurt but Dan deserved the truth. "I want you, man, and it's-it's really fucking inconvenient." He stated the obvious. He wasn't angry with Dan by any means, all the anger he had was directed towards himself. "I've never really been with anybody but her." He looked defeated as he refused to speak her name. It felt like he didn't have a right to say it anymore.

          Dan smiled, biting his lip to keep back any laughter. { Are you sure about that? } Dan questioned, smirk tugging at his lip. He glanced at the other, head quickly cocking to the side as soft lips met his neck. At that moments Dan regretted his decision. He always laughed when he felt a bit awkward, which meant literally everything romantic that could ever be done. He turned his body and re-positioned himself atop the other male.

Arin was both surprised and oddly pleased by Dan's actions. He could honestly say he didn't know his fellow grump had it in him to make such an aggressive move. He didn't quite feel like laughing anymore. His cheeks were heated slightly. Quickly, he had to think of something to say before it was given away that Dan had nearly bested him. "Damn, man, shouldn't you at least buy me dinner first?" Arin asked from underneath his lanky partner. His voice wasn't as confident as he had hoped it would be. Arin's hands managed to compensate for him as they ran up Dan's thighs. He wouldn't lose so easily.

                    { Yeah, you keep saying that. What’s happened has happened, even if you didn’t plan it. } She replied, hand sifting through her hair. Moments of silence filled the air, leaving them all to their own thoughts. She sighed angrily before pointing at the door, gaze locked on Arin. { Get out. } She snarled simply. There was so much she wanted to say, so much anger just bottled up, but she had to let it go. They both knew what path this was heading down, so there was no point in elongating the journey when you can just skip to the end.

Suzy had a point. They were over and there was nothing Arin could do about it. He could beg, plead, promise nothing like this would ever happen again, but none of it would be true. He was fully aware of just how deep he had delved into this insane shitstorm that was becoming his life. His feelings for Dan weren't going anywhere and it wouldn't be fair to any of them for him to pretend they would. "Okay." He wasn't going to put her through any more turmoil. Arin stood from the couch as calmly as he could despite the fact that he could almost literally feel himself breaking inside. He cleared his throat and gave her one last apologetic look. Maybe the future held some sort of friendship for the two, but for now, he was walking out the door. He didn't check to see if Dan was behind him, but who would stay after that?

          As fingers intertwined themselves with his own, he mirrored the action, small smile still on his lips. { You don’t know that! } He remarked, mouth hung agape for a few moments before curling into an open mouth smile. A few more moments passed and his jaw closed, leaving him with a simple wide smile. { Challence… ACCEPTED! } Dan remarked, leaning closer to the other even though they were literally touching hips.

Arin was the one who had put the challenge out there and was about to start laughing. It wasn't that he was uncomfortable or embarrassed, he simply just got a little giddy around his fellow grump. Quickly, he swallowed any laughter that might try and erupt from his lips. "Avidaniel, you're gonna regret that decision." A quick squeeze of the other male's hand and Arin was pressing a gentle kiss against Danny's neck.

          Dan let out another laugh, { I’m still waiting for her comeback. } He shrugged, smile still tugging at his lips. He had to admit, he wasn’t too sure uf he could accept their challenge; he wasn’t exactly the best at talking about… men things. But there was no going back now. { Dude, of course I’m sure! I could take you any day. } He replied, leaning over to kiss the other’s cheek once again.

"Dude, you're gonna be waiting a long time." Arin said matter-o-factly before sliding his hand over to Dan's and having their fingers intertwine. "Yeah, you say you could take me any day, but I'm gonna have to call bullshit." There was a smug grin painted on his face as he moved closer to Dan, their thighs now touching. "I bet you-fuck, anything, that you laugh before I do, as we try to out gay each other." He announced.

                     { C’mon, man, you know Gaga’s my girl. } Dan replied, small giggle tumbling out his lips as the other’s lips met his cheek. Only after did he turn to look at the other, smile lingering on his lips. { We can our gay-off any time, dude. } He added, leaning over to plant a kiss on the other’s cheek.

"Don't worry, I know you rock out to her, man." He laughed as he felt Dan's lips against his skin. It seemed as though they were constantly showing the other how much more comfortable they were becoming with physical affection. "Oh, yeah, you sure you should be so confident in accepting my challenge?" He asked before quickly placing his lips against his fellow grump's. It was a firm, but very affectionate kiss.

          Dan’s arms crossed as his face pulled into an over-exaggerated pout, eyes shifting to look at the other though his head angled downward. 'Adorable' At the word his pout turned into a pursed smile. It was obvious he was trying not to smile, but his emotions had taken control. { I was just born this way. } He stated in a sing-song-y way, going to a sloppy version of Lady Gaga’s Born this Way song.

"Okay, maybe you can out-gay me if that's your go-to song." Arin said as seriously as he could before leaning over and placing a kiss on Dan's cheek. "So, Danny wins this round, but I will demand a re-match in the future." He mumbled against the other male's skin. Arin then shifted his body closer to his fellow grump's. He settled close to him, a content expression painted on his face.

           Having the other point out how obviously embarrassed he was only made his cheeks darken, and that was nothing compared to the other’s second statement. He lowered his gaze, trying to think of what to say next. What could he say next? Moments passed before glancing back at the other, { Oh shut up, I’m not blushing. } 

Arin couldn't help but start laughing at the other's response. It was adorable when Dan thought he could out do him. "You should really see your face right now, man, it's priceless." Arin said between gasps for breath. "It's fucking adorable. I don't even know how you do that."

          Dan’s cheeks flamed up, but he ignored it and spoke, { Just because you talk about my dick more than I do of yours doesn’t men I’m any less gay for you. } He replied, eyes staying locked on the other’s.

          { I’m past that point, dude. Like— } Cutting of his voice,  he stared at the other, smile plastered on his lips as his mouth hung open, trying to think of what to say. { I dunno, too far to know where I am. }
