Ludwig does not often lie. He is actually a fucking terrible liar. It gives him anxiety, it makes him sweat, and he starts stuttering and blushing. His lies are never believable and it’s so painfully obvious that he’s lying. With this in mind, the biggest lie he’s told is probably................. to Rainer, that he’s fine and doesn’t need any help.

He’s irrationally terrified of getting unwell or sick, as well as irrationally terrified of his house burning down with the dogs inside. In general Ludwig has a lot of fears and anxieties that bother him on a daily basis

[It’s 6:45am. Ludwig had not long re-entered the house after walking his dogs.][Fresh out of the shower and in search of some food, Ludwig notices the fluffpile under his table whilst on his way to the kitchen.] Um?

Says the sculpted, three percent body fat, hairless wonder. [the mirror is put away and he is SMONCHED but Vin....] I still look like a rat, but thank you.

“He has, ähm, a disorder that sometimes, even when kept in check, makes him do impulsive and harmful things.” It feels wrong to talk about this with Ludwig. This news shouldn’t come from her. Francis should tell him. And yet she and Francis aren’t even speaking so how can she possibly expect he bare his soul to Ludwig? Well, in any case that is as deep as Lilli will go. It is all Ludwig needs to know to understand.

“I am…afraid.” Shame clenches Lilli’s chest when she admits this and her eyes well up with tears. They make her only that much more intent in focusing on Ludwig’s tie to hold them back. 

“I am afraid of what I might say to him if I try. Every day I wake up torn between begging him to be as we were and pleading with him to tell me why he couldn’t bring himself to stay.” Neither of which Francis needs while he recovers from whatever bender he has been on. 

“I miss him, Ludwig. It is so hard going to bed as strangers. I miss having him hold me. I miss making love with him. I miss–…” Swallowing heavily, Lilli waits until she knows that her voice will not crack before continuing. “I miss loving my husband and having him love me in turn.”

As Lilli talks, Ludwig remains silent. His eyes search her face - never quite meeting hers - as he listens to her explanation. “... I see.” He allows Lilli to ‘distract’ herself by fiddling with his tie, even though it did not need any more perfecting, and was somewhat tightening around his neck.

The tears in her eyes make him a little nervous, and his hands fumble with the entrance to his trouser pockets, sliding into them shakily. He swallows, nodding so gently it may not have been noticeable. He swallows once more, the muscle in his jaw clenching briefly. The sadness in Lilli’s voice, the pain in her eyes, is evident to him. It covers him, suffocates him, and he feels his own eyes sting a little. When did he last cry? He doesn’t remember.
