my ocs could never go mainstream purely bc of the sheer amount of suicide & self harm themes in it bc i wrote the majority of it as a very miserable 13 year old. which also comes with the problems of it having adults and later teens act how a 13 year old thinks they would act (highly inaccurate) . part of me wants to scrap the whole story and restart from scratch but i think ill just ease into that whole process and change what details i see fit because a hard reset isnt possible. which is probably why i only really draw romeo & artëm making out these days bc the one consistency throughout the years is that theyre in looooooooooooove

romeo & francis have a very complicated relationship because they both have the same fatal flaw of self destruction. in the beginning of the story theyre both lowkey bad people. theyre both outwardly unpleasant (romeo just wants to die and be done with it all, hes not here to make any friends & francis is one of those teenagers that takes jabs at everyone completely unprompted) and so see a lot of themselves in eachother and lowkey enable eachother. francis wants to impress romeo in a weird way, and he doesn't quite understand how to be a good person yet to stop her. once romeo gets reality checked and realising that the people hes found actually do care about him and he cares about them, he obviously makes better choices etc but francis is still a bit of a cunt all the way until rosario gets lost and she lashes out at him when hes found because it reminded her of her dead bestie that she is sooo #unhealed from. its when romeo & rosario have their sidequest in texas 45 and everyone finally tells her that shes no question in the wrong that francis is like; nicer.
