[2026-06-05] This is the lovely birch wood below Lawrencefield. A great walk from Surprise view carpark over to Millstone Edge and then onto Lawrencefield. The way back is up Padley Gorge.

[2026-05-22] This is Alprot Castles. Walked up from Fairholms to Lockerbrook Farm and then onto Alport Castles. Fantastic rock formations showing the friability of the underlying rock. Not surprising the A57 is moving down the hillside.
After walked down Ditch Clough to the resservoirs at teh bottom and then walked back to Fairholms.
[2026-05-20] This is Ox Stones Trig Point .419. A great walk over Houndkirk Moor and then onto Ox Stones and the Trig Point.
Walk starts at the road by Lady Cannings Plantation. Then a walk over the track to reach the high point. Actually the walk can be cut short by turning around prior to the high point. On the way back took the small paths over the moor to Ox Stones and this trig point.
[2026-04-23] The sun was out, but windy and cold first thing. Parked at the Grouse Inn and walked to White Edge Lodge, then up to the height. Walked along the top to White Edge. Found the true summit (according to the OS), then onto the Trig Point. Now onto Baslow, Curbar and Froggatt Edges. It was busy, given it is midweek, but I guess the weather brought people out.
[2026-04-20] The view of the north of Stanage Edge from the Long Causeway. Walked up from Dennis Knoll car park, along the Long Causeway and then north along Stanage Edge to Stanage End. Then it was back under the crags. A great day out.

[2026-03-09] A very misty day but still set off on the walk. Decided to walk clockwise, over Bamford Moor and up to Bamford Edge. This should give great views of the reservoir but with the mist it was 'spooky'. An unexpected view of the sum on way back to the car and especially the view of Hordron Edge.
[2026-03-05] A beautiful sunny day, with blue sky. Parked at the Snake Summit and walked along the Pennice Way to Bleaklow Head. Decided to miss out the walk over the moor to Higher Shelf Stones as underfoot it was very wet. From Bleaklow Head walked along the line of stakes (not all there) with some rough walking to Bealkow Hill and then Bleaklow Stones. These are an impressive array of stones, especially in the blue sky day. Back the same way.
[2026-03-02] Looking over grindsbrook from Grindsbrook Knoll. Cloudy but clear, and not raining but very windy. A walk up Grindslow Knoll to the top of Grindsbrook. Then along the edge of Kinder in a gale. Down Ringing Roger, where the wind eased, back to Edale.
[2026-02-26] This is Oyster Clough cabin. Wanted to go for a walk but high winds (again) forecast, so this valley walk seemed a good idea. Parked at Birchen Clough. Then down to River Ashop. Then up to road and followed path through forest and then onto Alport Moor. Walk on the track over the moor to this cabin. Back following the path the whole way. Rain when at car.
[2026-02-23] A walk around Burbage Valley. Not a promising day but rain kept off although very windy. Good to be out.

[2026-02-12] It had been raining and windy for the past few months. Decided to get out whatever. Drove to Kings Tree and walked up the Upper Derwent. Track was quite wet, must be really wet and muddy on the moors. Stopped by Stainary Clough due to deep water. Rivers were as full as iIhave seen them.
[2026-01-31] Another Stanage walk. Sun was out at start but soon disappeared. Good to be out especially as the weather has not been too good for walking.
[2026-01-01] Christmas was a walk to Stanage then south from Stanage Pole, New Year's Day was north from Stanage Pole to the trig point at high Neb. Not too many people out, could be as it was very windy.
[2025-12-29] Parked at the Grouse Inn, then walked to Froggatt Edge and onto Curbar. It was really old (or maybe i had insufficient clothes on). Nice views despite the high cloud.
[2025-12-25] Christmas Day walk along Stanage Edge to White Path Moss Trig. Great views but cold and windy. Morning walk and not many about.

[2025-12-24] A Christmas Eve walk around Burbage Valley. Walked along the North and South Edges than up the valley. Very cold and windy (but sunny) on the edges.
[2025-12-19] These rocks are Margery Rocks just south of the summit trig point of Margery Hill. A very windy walk up from Kings Tree to Margery Hill.
