Hiroshi is the hottest man—quite literally—with scarlet eyes, scarlet hair, and dressed entirely in red. A fire mage who absolutely cannot stand the cold and never stops complaining about it. He is a master of both sword and whip, inspiring fear and awe with his skill.

This world is not simple.

There are entities in it—Spirits—hunted by the Outcasts (though they gave themselves a different, more elegant name).

Outcasts are those who have shifted their perception of the world to another level, allowing them to sense what they hunt.

To ordinary people, they inspire unease and discomfort. People can see them, but cannot feel their magical presence (every living being has something like that… like a scent… and if someone doesn’t have it, that’s strange… and anything strange must be rejected). That’s why Outcasts are the most cursed mages—both behind their backs and to their faces.

So… one day, Cam and his friends stumble upon the Outcasts. The Outcasts had been tasked with capturing the gang (yes, sometimes ordinary people had to “hire” them, since there were things they couldn’t handle themselves).

Cam manages to escape, darting through alleyways and covering his tracks. But just as he thinks he’s safe, he falls into a trap. The Outcasts had managed to corner him after all.

The boy struggles in the grip of a man dressed in red, using the last of his strength, even though he knows it’s useless.

And that is how Cam and Hiroshi first met.

I might continue developing this original idea… and maybe write out their first meeting scene in more detail. Would anyone be interested in reading more?
