my thoughts before i found out about werebaby:
was not bugged by the hair thing bc i read it as pensive, nev brought up the hair to me, my read on it when discussing w/ him is im just seeing it as an extension of his body. Like pensively touching his hair could be pensively looking at his hands, or whatever, it read to me (w/o having a rough translation at that point) as him thinking about his present form or something related to his form (heart bthumping, frozen blood blah blah). Like this is the first time we’ve seen him out of his armor since the rebirth, he’s been kicking around in the same outfit for 150-some chapters, he even drinks tea in it (thanks nev for this) which he absolutely doesn’t need to be in full gear for. So i took the hair thing to tie into showing his body for the first time since the rebirth.
then nev gave the rough translation as s/t like ‘if that's the case, then tonight’... so my (reasonably educated, i hope) speculation is something like this:
My guess is that he’s sensing something or feeling something within his body/mind. Initially i was thinking it might be a bthump but i think it could also be and is maybe more likely that it’s the godhand bat signal / he’s sensing something related to elf island like, hey a behelit’s going to be cracked open.  I think the tonight part is fairly straightforward that s/t’s going to happen tonight. which i assumed is most likely to be the behelit being activated by casca (or else, you know, if it’s not this, hes picking up on SOME sort of shit that he/the godhand are going to show up at elf island for).  i got more to say abt this and i didnt proofread so this is unintelligble probably but im at work rn gonna talk more soon asap tho
