One of my biggest gripes with Mphfpc is how so many characters, and their important struggles are just forgotten. Ricky; never seen again after book 1 (despite being Jacob's only friend) Lilly; never even mentioned after only being in a few chapters (Despite being Noor's supposed best friend)
But even worse, so many main characters. Fiona; fell off a cliff, was mourned for less than a page then forgotten about by practically all of her family, only to be seriously mentioned again when the plot requires it. Emma; entirely sidelined after the break up, practically replaced (and by a far less compelling love interest too, imo) Enoch; not really forgotten, but his trauma (and I'm mostly referring to Frankie here) was brushed aside and never addressed despite probably having a massive impact on his health. We also never really learn what went down in his previous loop that may have made him the way he is today Miss Peregrine; painted as overbearing and controlling, when in reality she's a leader and a mother trying to juggle the world on her shoulders and keep everyone safe and happy all while dealing with years of abuse (referring to Caul), grief and loss.
There's probably way more examples, but these are the ones off the top of my head. This is by far my biggest issue with Mphfpc (aside from the character regression in the second trilogy), and it honestly sometimes makes the books very hard to read.
