‘‘So you were a mommy’s boy?’‘

‘‘Not exactly,I was just a lot closer to mother than father.’‘

‘’Father and mother.’‘ Sakura said.

Sasuke stared at Sakura’s thoughtful expression.

‘‘I used to call my parents mama and papa.’‘

‘‘Used to?’‘

‘‘Yeah when I made genin I thought I was too mature to call them like that anymore.’‘

‘’Mature isn’t how I would describe you at that age.’‘ Sasuke said with a teasing edge in his voice.

‘‘Than what would you use?’‘

‘‘Loud,know it all…’‘

Sasuke almost said the word cute before Sakura interrupted him

‘‘Annoying?’‘

Sasuke smirked before answering.

‘‘and annoying.’‘

Sakura stuck her tongue out as Sasuke resisted the urge to laugh at his teammates cuteness.

After a moment of silence Sasuke spoke.

‘‘I want my children,if I ever have children,  to call me papa.’‘

‘‘Why?’‘

Sakura was surprised since Sasuke is a very formal person.

‘‘Papa means the child is close to their father and I want my children to be close to me.’‘

‘‘Weren’t you close to you’re father?’‘

Sakura picked her words carefully,aware that his family is still a sensitive subject.

‘‘He was a good father, but no matter what I did he’d always compare me to Nii-san who was much more talented than me at that age.’‘

‘‘Hmm’‘

‘‘He stopped comparing me to him a little while before the massacre.’‘

Sakura started searching her mind for a change of subject upon noticing the expression on Sasuke’s face darken, he’s still recovering and it isn’t time for them to talk about these things.

‘‘So do you want a girl or a boy?’‘

Sasuke’s expression changed from a sad one to a confused one.

‘‘It doesn’t make a difference.’‘

‘‘Oh come on you must have a preference.’‘

‘‘Hm then a girl.’‘

‘‘Why?’‘

Sasuke smirked as he thought of a way of not saying that he wanted to spoil her.

‘‘So she can take the mantle of strongest kunoichi from a certain pink haired women.’‘

‘‘Hey under her auntie Sakura’s supervision she’d be hokage shanaroo!’‘

‘‘As long as you don’t teach her how to fangirl I’m fine with it.’‘

‘‘If she’s you’re daughter you’re going to have to take a full time job at shooeng away boys.’‘

‘‘Like she’d need me to do that.’‘

‘‘Hey some boys are very persistent.’‘

‘‘If she’s like her mother than then she’d punch them into a mountain.’‘

‘‘Like their mother?’‘

Sasuke tensed,he didn’t even know what he meant by that.

‘‘Sasuke Sakura I won against Kakashi so he has to treat us to ramen.’‘

Sakura forgot about the subject as Naruto dragged her of towards the ramen place.

Saku: Why do we have to pretend to be married?

Sasu: It avoids unwanted questions! Stop making this awkward.

I’ve been getting into a headcannon recently of AU’s where Sasuke has a crush on Sakura and she doesn’t know (or does she). This is kind of a small reference to the college AU I made a while back. 

Anyway making this short dj was really fun! It was interesting exploring tones and painfully doing the line art for each panel because I’m so used to painting… I’d love to practice and draw more comics in the future bc I have a lot of ideas. It just (breathes) takes a long time to draw it all (´༎ຶ ͜ʖ ༎ຶ `)♡

“If we weren’t shinobi. Or if only one of us was. Would that’ve changed anything?”

“…no.”

“Really? You think so?”

“You would’ve still found your way to a profession that helps people. That’s who you are.”

“I find it funny that you assume I’d be the one who ended up a civilian in this scenario.”

“Balance of probability. I can’t see myself as anything else.”

“Really? Because I have no problem picturing you as working in a restaurant or a café or something. It’s your all-encompassing love of people, you know?”

“Your sense of humour leaves much to be desired.”

“But, darling, you’d look so good in a uniform!”

“Tch. I’m going back to sleep now.”

“No, no – listen! I could come by to see you after my latest mission from ANBU, order a coffee –”

“You have an overactive imagination.”

“– and I’d be the only one whose order you always knew perfectly, because you looove me –”

“Debatable.”

“– and I’d always choose that shop because your coffee is amazing.”

“This would never happen, Sakura.”

“But it would! You make excellent coffee – you know, for a tea-drinker.”

“Why would I own a café if I don’t drink coffee?”

“I didn’t say you’d own it, just that you’d work there.”

“So, not only am I not a shinobi, but I’m not even an entrepreneur.”

“I don’t think you have the patience to start your own business.”

“And yet, apparently, I have the patience for public service?”

“Of course! You’d just have to look at people a certain way and they’d shut up and buy whatever you told them to. And no one would ever complain because they’d be too afraid.”

“…”

“And, of course, you’d work with Naruto because he wouldn’t be a shinobi either.”

“Oh?”

Summary: In which Sarada asks why Sasuke only has one arm. 699-700.

A/N: I’ve had this scene in my mind for a long time, so I thought I’d write it out today. It’s pretty short. Hope you guys like it.

“Mama.”

Sakura looks down to see her sweet-faced, 3-year-old daughter pulling on her pant leg. She had been sitting on the couch, reading through her cases while Sarada and her father sat on the floor and played. Sasuke had been laying on his side, explaining to Sarada what each of her toy weapons could be used for in combat.

At 3 years old, she was quite bright and analytical, asking him questions after every explanation. Of course, he used kid-friendly terms as he explained, so Sarada seemed to enjoy it. Sakura, then, was surprised to see that Sarada had gotten up from playing to come to her.

Sasuke is sitting up on the floor, watching the two of them. She smiles and picks Sarada up, sitting her down in her lap, smoothing down some of the stray hairs on her daughter’s head.

“Yes, Sarada?” She responds.

“Why does papa have one arm, but me and mama have two?” She asks. “And grandma and grandpa and Boruto and uncle Naruto? Why does only papa have one?” She repeats. She didn’t seem to be upset, just genuinely curious.

Their daughter truly was bright and observant. Sakura looks up at Sasuke, slightly surprised at the question and a little unsure how to respond. Sasuke meets her gaze with a calm demeanor and speaks up.

“Sarada, come here to papa.” He says.

Sarada jumps off of her mother’s lap and quickly walks back over to Sasuke. In one swift motion, he scoops her up into his arm, stands, and lifts her up high into the air by her bottom so that she is sitting upright in his palm. Sarada squeals with excitement at the quick action. She momentarily forgets her question and yells,

“Look mama! I’m on top of the world!”

Sakura laughs. “You sure are, my sweet girl.“

Sasuke brings her down to his side and looks at her.

“Unlike everyone else’s papa, your papa only needs one hand to lift you up to the top of the world, Sarada.”

Sarada looks up at him, then, dark eyes wide with wonder. Her facial expressions reminded him so much of her mother. Sasuke places a gentle kiss on her forehead.

“Papa only needs one hand to protect you and mama. Anyone else would need two.”

Sarada looks over at Sakura, grinning. “Papa is soooooo awesome, mama!” She exclaims, pumping her tiny fist up into the air.

Sasuke directs a smirk in Sakura’s direction. She smiles at both of them, a warmth settling into her expression. She tucks away the scene that just unfolded before her into her heart. She has a feeling that her heart will only continue to grow with each memory they make as a family.
