So many people said they voted for Trump, put a truly evil person in power, because he said he'd fix the economy, and a little voice in my head is going, "Isn't that what happened with fucking Hitler??"

Note: Quran is the word of God in book form. It is considered unalterable and the basis for Islamic Law (Sharia) although legal provision in the Quran is said to require elaboration from Hadith and/or other religious sources. Hadiths are the record of the prophet’s sayings passed through generations. There are different levels of hadiths (ie, completely believable or open to interpretation).

1. Hadith 4794: ‘when a man invites his wife to bed and she does not come and he (the husband) spends the night being angry with her, the angels curse her till morning.’ (Evidence that the woman’s consent does not matter, and that her refusals are not respected).

2. Hadith 2658: ‘The prophet said ‘’isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?’’’The woman said ‘yes’. He said ‘This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind.’’( this is literally calling woman stupid, saying that their minds aren’t as advanced as men).

3. Quran, Sura 4:34: ‘if you fear high handedness from your wives, remind them of the teaching of Allah, then ignore them when you go to bed, then hit them.’ (Justifies domestic abuse towards women and insinuates they are children who need to be lectured).

4. Quran, Sura 2:222: ‘And they ask thee, concerning menstruation. Say, ‘it is a harmful thing, so keep away from women during menstruation,’ (implying that menstruation is an illness instead of…a normal bodily reaction that women cannot control).

5. Quran, Sura 4:4: ‘And if you fear that you will not be just dealing with the orphans, then marry of other women as may be agreeable to you, two or three or four, and if you fear you will not be able to do justice, then marry only one or marry what your right hand possesses’ (treats women like cattle and also, the term ‘right hand possesses’ is used to refer to enslaved people under their master. This checks out as the prophet had a few concubines and sexual slaves alongside his eleven wives).

This isn’t even all the evidence but if I write any more of these verses I think I’ll throw up, and I believe my point has been made. Islam has never been a feminist religion. When it was initially established and spreading through to other regions Islam was proudly a conquering and expansionist religion. One of the prophet’s slaves (Rayhana bint Zayd Ibin Amir) was a woman who he took as his slave after she refused to marry him. He asked her to marry him after he had conquered her village and killed her people, by the way.
