“Do you have their number? If not, you could try calling their office or your own office to inform them of the no-show?”

“I tried calling there already. According to the person who answered, they should’ve been here a couple of minutes ago. So, I’m choosing to give them the benefit of the doubt and waiting here a couple more minutes before I convince myself they’ve really decided not to show up.” she stated. “How about you, are you here for any reason in particular?”

Ryder had been on the phone for what felt like three hours, trying to hash out some business deal that one of his advisers told him would be a good idea, one that would help the bank grow even more when he heard the footsteps behind him. He sighed slightly before rotating his chair to face the person instead of looking at the window with a raised brow. “Mr. Barnes? I’m going to have to call you back.” He said into the phone clearly before hanging up, propping his feet up on the desk as he looked over at the person who’d walked in. “If you’re here wanting to know anything about money, the bank closed around- “ He started, glancing down at his Rolex to catch the time before looking back up. “Forty-five minutes ago, which means you’d better have a decent excuse as to why you’re here right now.”

Mini marched into the office with determination. “I wouldn’t bother with the time a whole lot,” she said with a shake of her head, making her way over to the man’s desk, her eight inch heels clicking with each step the petite brunette took to get there. “And, Mister Barnes won’t need you to return the call at some other moment if this is something that goes well,” she announced calmly, offering the man a hand to shake. “I’m here in the name of candidate Barnes. He sent me to have this conversation with you and make sure to convince you of the reasons why you should support him in his endeavors. Naturally, he assumed you’d be more relluctant over having a conversation of the sorts over the phone,” she gestured between him and the device on top of his desk. “So, he made sure to send over someone who could respond to all of your queries as well as explain the platform he’s running.”

Mini rolled her eyes at the statement. “I wouldn’t come all the way over here if the interruption didn’t happen to be necessary,” she announced.

A loud bang rang out causing Finn to curse and drop his cigarette, which nearly rolled out of reach. “Fuck…” He collected the cigarette from the ground and tried to brush the ash out of his jeans. “Stupid fucking car…” He’d heard enough gun shots to be able to distinguish between a car backfiring and the sound of gun fire, but that didn’t mean his body didn’t respond as if it were the later every single time. 

Of course that stupid vehicle would choose the middle of freaking nowhere to troubleshoot. It was just one of those situations in which everything seemed to conspire against her. She had run out of battery and now she needed to figure out what to do about that stupid car. She glanced at the person closest to her, wailing a hand. “Excuse me,” she called out. “Any chance I could borrow your phone or something of the sorts?” she questioned.
