bring in the cats is a standard single serving website with a fun payoff

This one’s another relatively simple, joke-y one-off, but it provides a little bit of functionality. The site basically checks RSS feeds for translation releases from a few anime that the creator believes “save” anime every week, and presents a corresponding image and song depending on whether there has been a recent release or not. click the + button for some other bits and pieces of anime-related stuff that the creator made.

I mean, it’s pretty much what it says it is. I like one-off joke sites like this, and it’s one that’s executed pretty well. the interaction is immediately obvious, and that instilled me with a desire to push its limits, which is rewarded pretty nicely.

This is a fanpage for Serial Experiments Lain, a 90s anime that I greatly enjoyed. The site itself feels dated in certain ways that I can’t fully articulate with my limited knowledge of web design, but it’s got a nice way of capturing the slightly paranoid neon flickering of the series it’s based on.

Not sure if this counts, but this is a talk from Chaos Computer Club’s 30th meeting, and it delves vitally into the meaning and importance of software, of networks. It is a reminder of the repercussions of our decisions and actions, whether we consider them or not.

an endless scrolling collaborative artwork created via the contributions of various artists. Partially, i’m attracted to the aesthetic of it and the patchwork way that the different images blend into one another, and, partially, the format itself kind of evokes the physical form of a scroll to me.
