He didnât want her to hide who she was, because he loved her the way she was. In his eyes she was perfect just the way she was. Of course it helped that she was the one person he felt comfortable around. She had seen his scars and loved him despite them. He couldnât help being somewhat grateful to her for that. âI love you, Laurelâ he breathed out before turning back to the movie. Sometimes he just said, because he thought they both needed to hear it said out loud.Â
She was in mid chew when he said and as he turned back to the tv, Laurel looked at him oddly. but it was something that needed to be said. She finished chewing, moved the bowl to the nightstand, and then cuddled up with him. âI love you too.â Laurel finally whispered back.
When he heard those words come out of her mouth he couldn't help the small smile that appeared on his lips. His arms wrapped a little tighter around her, holding her close against his chest. Sometimes he just enjoyed the closeness of her.....all the time if he were honest. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her in his arms. He kissed the top of her head, focusing partly on the movie while his fingertips traced down the side of her body.Â
