"nothing about us without us" needs to extend to different autistic people within the community as well as between autistic and allistic groups. including autistic people with different symptoms or severity of autism is essential. you can't use any old autistic person to represent the whole spectrum. for example, if your group of autistic people are all speaking then they shouldn't be making statements on the non verbal experience, even if they are also autistic, because it's not about them, and it is without the people they're pretending to represent.

i think out of disrespect we should just start using "spamtenna moment" as shorthand for when a nothing tier yaoi ships between side characters somehow manages to eclipse in fandom popularity all of the central character relations of both the main cast and the rest of the side characters that aren't men. i think this should become such a widespread and entrenched form of fandom lingo for insulting ships that the next generation of teens will grow up understanding its meaning and not its origins in the same way teens of my generation used adjective!character parlance long before ever learning what bang paths were.

And I'm not arguing that "I have to break myself working because I just don't have the option not to" is an acceptable or privileged situation, but if you can't do that the common alternative to that situation isn't "someone else steps in and provides the support and resources you need" as often as it's "you starve and rot in your own filth until you die from neglect"

People who are more severely disabled than you are not people who don't have to worry about neglect and insufficient care - they're usually people with even more complex care and accommodation needs and an even smaller capacity for independently making up for an insufficient support system dealing with the exact same ableist, neglectful systems as you.

pop health science is so annoying bc it'll be like "did you know? eating strawberries will give you mega cancer" and you're like pfft whatever begone influencer. but sometimes then you'll see a reasonably credible article like "Study Shows Possible Link Between Strawberries and Mega Cancer" and you're not usually the type to follow that kind of thing religiously but idk maybe you should consider not eating strawberries? but then there's another article saying "Strawberry/Mega Cancer Study Debunked" and it turns out the original study had a sample size of 3 and was funded by Big Blueberry, and strawberries may have a small connection to mega cancer but only if you are genetically predisposed to mega cancer and eat 50 strawberries every day. so you return to your strawberry eating life. but whenever you eat strawberries in public someone tells you about the mega cancer.

you're also, like, thinking about it a little bit whenever you see one, and it's annoying because not only is it wrong but it's also taking up mental bandwidth and you can't delete net zero information at will

A very irritating thing about being disabled while also having a mental illness is that everybody and their dog will assume the mental illness was caused by the disability. People seem to think that being disabled must be a miserable enough life to cause mental illness. By doing this they write off any other causes and factors in mental health, and they act like mental illness is inevitable for disabled people and therefore normal and expected.

Do it scared but please don't do it hungry. Please don't do it dehydrated. It's gonna make it so much scarier. Please.
