oh yea btw i need to clarify this in my rules once i can figure out how to condense it elegantly into a few sentences, but re: dupe anxiety, at least for me, i generally take full responsibility of curating my own space 🤌 usually this will mean i'll avoid following a single-muse blog or in the case of a multi, mute tags on the dash — same as if theres a mun i don't write with.
absolutely no ill will or bad feelings or judgement toward anyone who writes dupes, i just struggle pretty bad with replacement anxiety (like it's one of the primary issues i deal with) so witnessing them on the dash or chatting about them (with the exception of ivy's xf and zag's sakura) just makes me feel really sad? i get the urge to isolate and withdraw and it's just . bleh. which is like. obviously not the healthiest thing in the world, but this is a hobby space and i'd like to have fun. SKAHFKSJDFH so it is what it is for now.
what i mean to say is that nothing is required on writing partners' end. occasionally, if we're buddies and you pick up a muse that prods at dupe anxiety (which i think rn is mostly till, and eternally will be elizabeth bio/shock DKSJFHKJSD but it changes from fixation to fixation), i might just gently ask that we talk about / plot with other muses instead.
andddd the last thing is: this recent flare-up in dupe anxiety issues has everything to do with tangentially related irl stuff and nothing to do with anyone here. i thought i'd worked through it, but feeling unstable about my place and permanence in people's lives has kind of brought it back full-force recently, and dealing with the irl things has left me with zero emotional energy to work through the rp things. apologies if u see this as immature or bad or whatever (which i only say bc ive seen some stuff about dupe anxiety specifically floating around the rpc recently) but emotional-centered issues like this are more complex than they seem and can radiate out into lower-stakes areas of life like hobbies.
