one of the things i don’t really understand in p3 is why the stamatins, who should be closer to dankovsky (at least politically), come across as much more annoying people than in burakh’s route in p2
(actually andrey in p3 isn’t annoying to me personally at all, but that’s because i relate to his vibe there. judging by dankovsky’s reactions, andrey clearly annoyed him)

when i started playing pathologic, i asked my friends where the game takes place, and they said it was russia. and even if that’s not really true, some things there make sense and really stand out to people who live in russia or grew up there, like me and the developers
1. fucking fences everywhere. the desire to fence off your own small private plot from your neighbors is something that showed up in russia after the collapse of the ussr, and compared to other countries there are really a lot of fences there. especially in the suburbs
2. this one is more for americans, but you can’t buy guns and ammo in a regular store
3. pretty much all the women are unbelievably beautiful and all the men are ugly (even the stamatins although i love them). the only handsome man in the whole game is daniil dankovsky
random peter stamatin smut headcanon
been thinking about autistic peter… in p1 the developers labeled one of his emotion animations as “autism”, but then it grew so much in the fandom that they started expanding on this idea, and in p3 they dropped that story about how he jumped out of a window when some distant relative tried to hug him without permission
i have a headcanon that he didn’t speak at all until he was like 5 years old. only andrey understood him because he didn’t need words to do so. parents kept taking him to doctors, and when they realized he wasn’t deaf-mute and didn’t have any intellectual difficulties, they started scolding and punishing him (and andrey as well – for taking his side). he could have grown up much more withdrawn and distant, but because of andrey he learned social norms (at least most of them) and masking
still, he has days when he’s overwhelmed and can’t talk. for that exact reason, when he and andrey were still a kids they learned sign language. and every time peter goes nonverbal he speaks to andrey using it

when the little stamatins argued, andrey would tell peter that their parents had found him in the trash can. in response, peter would say andrey was ugly. both believed it and started to cry
