I was supposed to write about my recent trip but then upon seeing my drafts, I realized, I have several posts that never made it to âpublishedâ stage. I vow to make improvements this year so here goes my first blood.
I donât go out a lot these days like I used to when I was younger (donât ask). Yes! #gorproblems are for real! But my adventurous nature is alive and kicking from within. So when I got invited to join a wakeboard + sunset and sunrise yoga retreat, I JUMPED IN! Iâve always dying to try âem.
My yoga teacher, AJ of CebuYoga, made it all convenient for us when she proposed the package ALL IN. We didnât have to worry about anyhing except for the stuffs that we may need to ourselves for the trip. Check out her page via Facebook âEvents by AJâ.Â
We arrived around lunch time and luckily got to enjoy the place all by ourselves. Iâve got to socialize too and meet interesting people, something that I rarely do these days (LOL). I just feel that Iâm overly exposed to people that the weekend is my time to cave in haha. Is there even such thing? But not this weekend.
Weâve got to stay the night at this lovely white house adjacent to the park and overlooking the entire marina. Itâs fully air conditioned with 2 restrooms. If you plan to make reservations, make sure you brought our own utensils and you have a home.
As the sun is starting to set, we started setting up for our sunset yoga. It was my first time to experience such and it was beautiful as the energy it exudes.Â
We choose to buy take out âlechonâ (roasted pork) and âpusoâ (hanging rice) for our dinner as itâs not every time weâve got a chance to eat it and of course, itâs everyoneâs favorite (such a lame excuse but whatever). We enjoyed our dinner paired with wine and beer....s to end the night and get ready to start our morning strong with sunrise yoga.Â
But first, coffee!!! After our intense sunrise yoga, we head for a typical filipino breakfast âsilogâ (anything with rice and egg). A few of us got to enjoy the pool and wakeboard some more before heading home.
The weekend reminds me a lot of things about living. That life is all about finding balance. For you to glide in life, you will need to push through the waters and allow yourself to be pulled by the cable. It also means breathing through your pain and testing your limits. Itâs about bending and flexing in the moment. Get stoked and get strong. Namaste.Â
Cebu Wake Park is at the same compound with Papakitâs Marina and Fishing Lagoon. More information can be found on their website http://cebuwakepark.com/Â All photos are mine except for those with credits. Head on to my instagram "grashyabellaâ for more recent adventure ;)
