Snailstep Clangen - Thunder Clan 1
Thunderstripe - based on the character Erib (real name is Colquhar). Mate to Mothlight Cold and often viewed as stern yet fair, he worked his way into the King's notice and was elevated to the position of Hand, despite his lowly blood. He did not disappoint in his position. Erib is very intelligent and strategic, and not a man to be pushed. He will forgive a lot, but stretch his patience too thin and he will punish brutally. Needless to say, many don't make that mistake again, and his demeanor does not make him approachable. Has come a long way and is not forgetful of his humble origin, but is also adept at ignoring the jibes of others, he knows he earned his place and that's that. Though not ambitious enough to overreach, he is very loyal to those he deemes worthy of respect and loyalty, he comes with strength and brains in the deal, you just have to put up with his lack of conversation, and bluntness in the delivery of often harsh or painful truths. He will not coddle or apologize for upsetting sensitivities if what he's saying needs to be said. And often it does. Can see other realms, including the Fey. Father of Zantair (Wolfstrike) and Yumisa (Rosethorn). Good friends with @snailstep-and-her-clan's Stagheart. Not all scowls and gloom, you just have to know him to experience other nuances.
Mothlight - based on D'urik from the same setting as Erib. Mate to Thunderstripe. She is a quick thinker and great at getting things done efficiently. She's a knack for spotting potential and giving others a chance. Initially she spotted Erib and convinced the King to give him a chance. She's great at laying out an argument persuasively, and her judgement is highly valued. Warm and motherly, she also knows when to crack the whip. Named after her illusionary powers of dazzling moths. Partner to Erib, romantic and professional, but not biological mother to the twins (or just Zan, as Yumi died at birth), she cared for the child as if her own. She is the softening edge to Erib and usually the one people go to first as backup.
Bearfang - based on Quint Tirellius. Mate to Squirreltuft. Something of a brute, and often crass to boot, he's a proud street thug and dares anyone to say otherwise. Trouble as a youth, he's since been bettered by the resposibility of a wife and children, all of whom he loves fiercely. Family comes first, everything else is secondary, this often leads him to be stubborn or inflexible if not overly protective of his family. Though luckily for them all, @snailstep-and-her-clan's Terish (Squirreltuft) is more than capable of swaying him. He's happy to defer to her as often she's right. Is brave to perhaps the point of stupidity, because he won't back down from a challenge or to prove himself, and really he's still always itching for a scrap and is the proud wielder of a wealth of self-confidence and ego. May have somewhat limiting views of what he perceives masculinity to be and thus can be critical of his sons and indeed himself, unwilling or unable to express emotion in a healthy manner, usually masking it with bravado, sneers, or anger. Cousin to Thaddeus (Flamethroat)
Flamethroat - based on Thaddeus, or the Psalmer. Cousin to Bearfang. They assumed they'd both get the suffix "fang" so they could refer to themselves as The Fangs *bro laugh*) thankfully that wasn't the case because it sounded idiotic in hindsight. Mate to Sunbloom. Grounded and with a decent enough grasp of common sense and logic, he is no stranger to hard work and tends to appreciate it, thus will always have something to occupy himself, because there's always sometimes to be done. Seen as reliable if not perhaps intimidating, he can come across as somewhat unapproachable, but this is far from reality. He's quite a warm and caring character and possesses a greater grasp on emotional maturity than his cousin, being better at expressing, and dealing with other people's. He does own a temper, but has enough self control to reign it in and rationalise it, so its only unleashed on those who really test him. Most of the time he's pretty laid back and open to a little mischief and fun, also quite resourceful and innovative, and hates being cold.
Sunbloom - based on Anwen the tree maiden. Mate to Flamethroat. In her youth she was wild and flirtatious as is only natural with a being of the Fey, but life and mortality wore down her spirit and drew in her sphere of reality to be somewhat more...simple. She does regret the taming of that once carefree maiden, but one can't return to the past, and she can't return to the Fey , so Anwen made the most of what she had and embraced it, learning to love it, which I think says a lot for her fortitude. The flirtatious girl is still there, the girl who was once so confident, and in awed by everything in the human world, she just had to be given the chance to show herself again after so long of healing. Anwen is bold yet matured, assertive but also accommodating, knowing her own mind and self worth and truly more comfortable in her own being. She enjoys good company, stories, and laughter, as well as quiet more intimate and reflective moments. She does like her intimacy a lot though. Isn't afraid to make the first move in anything, be it decisions or trying something new.
Dapplekit - based on Magda the ghost girl. Whose living form I haven't designed. Kitten of Flamethroat and Sunbloom. Curious and ever the adventurer, she finds delight in discovery and is quite positive the majority of the time, with an effervescence energy and an open minded innocence which may be easily distracted. She adores stories, wonderful things like pretty stones or feathers, hugs, and is also partial to a lovely nap in a sunny spot. She doesn't like it when people get hurt, and worries they'll die a little too much. Despite this she's a plucky little thing and isn't easily frightened, or so she likes to pretend, but she can be very brave when she has to be.
Rainsong - based on Rain, one of the children of Zantair with a Storm Weaver woman (I forget her name). Mate to @snailstep-and-her-clan's Rookdance. Optimistic, Rain is one of life's bright souls who can find enjoyment even in the mundane. Said to possess "old eyes" there is however a sense of fleeting melancholy to be found in her gaze if one looks too deeply, as though she's seen many lifetimes which aren't hers. A singer by heart and nature, she possesses a pixie-like grace and mischief and knows what she wants when she wants it. Content and fun-loving most of the time, however her fury can be quite intense when it is evoked. Possesses a strong sense of kinship and family with those she views as such.
