listen i think bullet trains are cool and i get this is a joke post but. Indigenous Nations have expressed many concerns about building more rail networks across north america. famously the building of the first transcontinental railroads in Canada/the US required the near total depopulation of bison herds and the suppression of multiple Indigenous rebellions/resistance movements. if we're serious about ecological restoration, Indigenous land rights, and land back then we can't just act like everyone wants high speed rail and there isn't/won't be any legitimate pushback on it. whose land are we building these high speed railroads across?

#the 'high speed rail is the future of the US!' argument requires the US to continue to exist in the future #maybe it shouldn't boys. have we thought abt that #railroads are colonial infrastructure full stop
