The Púca is a creature found in Celtic folklore. The Púca is described as a creature with black or white fur it also has the power to shapeshift into multiple creatures such as goats, dogs, cats, humans, and their favorite form horses. Púca are said to bring good or bad luck when you see it and the name “Púca“ means “spirit” in Irish. When the Púca shapeshifts into a person they will have animal traits like a tail or ears and whatever form the Púca takes it will always have bright illuminated golden eyes. The Púcaloves to scare and terrify people though it means them no harm and if a person hops on the back of a Púca it will take them for a crazy ride it is said that Brian Boru who was the High King of Ireland was the only one to tame and ride a Púca in it’s horse form by making a magic bridle with three hairs from the Púcas tail.

some development shots and sketches of this game I’ve been hobbying away at recently. I kind of want to use this game as an opportunity to put my own spin on Irish mythology.

Banshee is a female spirit in Irish mythology who heralds the death of a family member, usually by wailing, shrieking, or keening.

a banshee is a ghostly woman whose high pitched screams prophesy the death of someone soon to come; these ghostly screams are almost always heard at night and are said to sound like a blend between a woman’s scream and a night creature’s wail; it is said that if you hear the wail of a banshee then someone close to you, will soon meet their end.

Commonly spelled the banshee, the Irish wailing woman. Not a sinister figure, or a cruel one. She is merely the first to mourn an untimely death. She is harmless, so long as one never steals her jagged tooth comb.
