William: He's going to regret ever laying a finger on you.
William: Just headed to the hospital now and then I'll come over okay. Go home if you're not already.
William: Yea you heard right. Julia's going to need us now more than ever.
Grace: Ethan said it was her, I don't know why I just thought
Grace: Oh my god, I can't believe it
Grace: Are you okay? Did anything happen?
Grace: HOW the fuck did this happen?
ethan-andrewsâ:
She missed the whole thing? Was she tied back here the entire time? Why? Why would someone stick her in this room before the madness even commenced? Was she a threat? Or was this a means to protect her from the impending chaos those in charge knew would commence? Question after question rolled around and Ethan filled her in. âThis blond giant guy tried to shoot Jules and Kate took the bullet instead.â he said as he moved his hand down her leg and found the knife, shifting back to the ties and carefully cut her free. âHe killed Kate and left everyone to deal with the aftermath like a fucking coward. A fucking murderous coward.â he sat down on his ass, exhausted from running around and in need to give his knee a rest. âWho put you in here? Why? Why before everything happened? And donât feed me some bullshit that you donât know. You had a fucking knife tucked away on your leg, Grace. Thatâs not part of the outfit.â Heâs sick and tired of all the shit thatâs uncovering from everything and for being in the dark with so goddamn much.
-
The words were a shock, and the name even more so. She gaped at him for a few moments, trying to comprehend what he was saying. Kate? Kate Montgomery? The blond giant? His questions were rapid afterwards, and she was entirely confused and inundated, and wasnât sure what to say. The immediate response was to lie, and somehow she felt a stab of guilt thinking about it. It wouldnât do, this wasnât her place to say anything, and she knew that she had to be careful. âKate? Kateâs dead?â She uttered the words, almost not believing him, trying to ignore the questions posed. âFletcher, my brother, weâve both been training,â it wasnât a complete lie. âEver since our parents,â she didnât fill in the blank, unable to say the words. âWeâve been on high alert, surely you fathom what protecting yourself looks like,â her voice was growing clipped and shirty and she didnât mean to take it out on him, standing up after removing the remnants of the cut rope. âWe have to get out of here. And thank you,â she paused for a moment as she turned to the door, and extended a hand. âAre you okay? What happened to your knee?âÂ
ethan-andrewsâ:
It was about time to GTFO yet Ethanâs dumbass kept telling himself âFive more minutes. Five more minutes.â There were a few people in his truck by now, a friend making sure Ren doesnât lose her mind with fear because her mom is taking care of people herself. Ethan canât get the image of Stella with the gun out of his head. The comfortable way she carried it and the fact she showed no fear further muddled his mind with questions. Ones thatâll be asked later. For now Ethan made the final trek by looking in rooms. He didnât know who heâll come upon this, whether friend or foe, but he didnât care. It wasnât that he had enemies but it absolutely felt as if he has a target on his back due to being a witness. Many of them were.Â
There were a couple rooms left towards the end of this hall, an exit at the very end of it for him to dash out as soon as his sweep is done. As he pushed the door open, careful as to not take a blow from whatever weapon may await on the other side, Ethan found Grace tied to a chair. If things werenât fucking bananas right now heâd absolutely crack a BDSM joke but not the time. Definitely not the time. Foolishly entering the room, not checking around to see if she was alone, Ethan went to her and quickly removed the gag from her mouth before working on the binds on her wrists. âPlease for the love of God tell me you know what the fuck is happening here.â his fingers tried to pry the knot free but it wasnât easy. Doesnât help his fingers are trembling as he worked.Â

There was something so incredibly humiliating about the whole situation, and she was struggling against the ties binding her wrist. What did Fletcher say about panicking? Something about trying to even the breath, or something, and she tried, in vain it felt like, to try to even out the breathing, but the rope was tight, and her arms pulled behind her were taut, stopping her from being able to even her breaths. It was hard to breath with the the gag stuffed into her mouth, and as she struggled for what felt like the better part of hours, she finally heard the telltale sound of doors opening and closing, as if someone were checking. Whoever she expected, it definitely wasnât Ethan. When the gag was pulled from her, she heaved deep breaths into her lungs, before shaking her head. âI heard a shot, I have no fucking idea,â she lied through her teeth in between her pants for breath and her seething anger, having heard the most of the Volkovâs little speech. âRight leg, Ethan,â she tried to move it, as if that would somehow help. âThereâs a, uh, a knife.âÂ

Williamâs eyes had watched the dance floor before sweeping them across the rest of the reception. Giving subtle smiles and nods to those that noticed him but remaining where he was, conversation the last thing he was looking for in the moment. That was until he caught sight of Grace exiting and he decided to follow suit, not before he stopped at the bar and grabbed them drinks. âHow many of these do you think are rented for the occasion?â he inquired teasingly as he approached where she stood, now in view of all the cars that were driven here. âBeing a bridesmaid is a good look on you by the way.â Will handed her the glass with a smile, genuinely impressed with how amazing she was.
-
About to turn and perhaps curse out whoever had intruded upon her little moment of peace and reprieve from the rest of the wedding, and visibly relaxed upon seeing who it was. A small smirk graced her lips as she looked around at the vehicles. âI dunno, but the newly rich are the ones driving around in ostentatious Lamborghini's and whatever else, but the real value is in that Maybach over there,â she nodded towards the car she mentioned and then shrugged before turning towards him with a grin. âStop it, you know I hate this. I donât think Iâve ever worn heels for this long in my life, itâs a real pain, I think my little toe is about to fall off. How do people do this?â She couldnât help complimenting him back. âYou know Will, youâve always managed to clean up pretty well in a suit.âÂ

âOh please, I fucking coined that nickname. If anyone gets to use it itâs me. Besides isnât that a waste of a good wrench? Just send them my way and Iâll be happy to break their jaw, just for you.â Fletcher countered, an element of sarcasm laced into his tone despite the element of seriousness that remained. Truth be told he wouldnât have hesitated to land anyone in an early grave that so much as looked the wrong way at his sister, but a wedding was not the place for such activities and as much as he was itching to kick off some real fun in the form a brawl, more than likely with one of the few Vipers he had seen roaming throughout the crowd of people, he knew he was better off exerting whatever self control he had left. If anything the few faces he had seen had drawn him closer to the older Williams sibling, always keeping her within sight should the need arise to see her newfound skills in action. Perhaps it was pessimistic to believe such things could happen, but Fletcher would swear black and blue that he was only ever a realist. Taking back his flash from the woman he was quick to take a long swig for himself before returning the vessel to the confines of his jacket. âEasy, you might be fast on your feet but I donât think youâre quite ready to land me on my ass.â He taunted back, despite having every faith that all too soon that day would come and he wouldnât be mad about it. If anything he was proud of the other for wanting to train, to work hard to gain the skills that their uncle had passed down to them. After all it was in the Williams blood and Grace was proving to be a quick learner. âIntroduce you to someone youâve met half a dozen times? Youâre funny. I brought Rosa along if you must know.â He explained, the brunette having been one of his closest friends for a number of years. âItâs not like itâs a date or anything so you can relax. Do I need to grill whoever brought you along?â
-
It was quite endearing to hear the missive from Fletcher, and though sheâd heard the threats often enough, it still created a swell in her chest some sort of emotion that seemed eternally reserved for her little brother. Her little no-so-little brother. The kid who trailed hopelessly after her and their father on their hunting trips. The kid who had stars in his eyes the first time their father had taken a car apart and put it back together, to turn that key in the ignition to see that the engine ran even better. And the kid that now seemed to be not only teaching her a thing or two, but was now on par with her in terms of looking out for the remainder of the Williams legacy. Throughout their training sessions, sheâd thought of the words hundreds if not thousands of times, of trying to make sure he knew just how important he was to her, but they never seemed to come, and she decided that it just wasnât what they did. They were Williams. They threw punches first, asked questions later, and hoped that their actions spoke for them. âWatch out, themâs fighting words, Fletchy, I want a case if I ever land you on your ass,â she brandished a finger at him and then nodded in understanding. âAh, Rosa.â She couldnât help the eyeroll. âWell pardon me for not being able to recognise another one of your many friends from the back. God, Fletch, the world doesnât really revolve around you, you know? Surprised you could fit down the hallways with your head inflated beyond repair,â she snickered, and then shook her head. âHey, Iâm on strict bridesmaid duties, I didnât bring a date. Plus, I think there are enough people here to see me dressed like this,â she gestured in the general direction of her hair and face. âDad would roll in his grave if he knew what had become of his tomboy daughter,â it was only a joke, but as soon as the words left her mouth, she wished that she hadnât spoken them, teeth grit for a moment before downing the drink.

That off feeling that had existed since the morning was only deferrable by alcohol, and though she could somewhat skate beneath detection, it didnât seem like it would be all that likely that sheâd be able to for long. Not when the ceremony was due to start, and they were calling for photographs. Sheâd never been photographed so many times within a day, and as exhausting as it was to plaster a somewhat awkward smile as she stood next to the rest of the wedding party, even Isabella Marino or Kate Montgomeryâs usually cheeriness couldnât seem to make her feel any less awkward. Slipping away for a moment, she made her way towards the bar, dodging eye contact. It wasnât until she was there that a slightly familiar figure caught her attention, and she sidled up beside him with her drink. âHey, not that itâs any of my business, but your truck has a faulty injector, I could hear it misfiring as you pulled into the carpark. You should get that looked at before you need to replace them all.â

On her wedding day, Grace didnât expect to see Julia all that much, especially not with too much time on her hands to have a conversation with her. But it wasnât the bride had made her way towards her, gliding across the dance floor, and Grace was beckoned into the bathroom to check and touch up her makeup that she realised just how little time Julia had to herself that day. But, she reasoned, that might not be the point of a wedding.Â
âIâm surprised you asked me to help with makeup, Iâm basically useless,â she quipped from the stool by the makeup table, a champagne flute in one hand, her tiny almost useless purse thing in the other, and a spare flute of champagne on the table. âAnd since Iâm under strict instructions not to produce too much alcohol for you, Iâm not sure I can do anything but distract you. The cake, by the way, looks amazing. You were worried for nothing.â

It was only a slight distraction from the day, but it was still a distraction at that. Sure, sheâd been out of the loop when it came to the ins and outs of the Montgomery clan, but Grace had thought she knew the important people. At least. Which is why Phillipâs date was rather interesting to her. Sidling up next to the pretty brunette, she had the intention of introducing herself to the other, and perhaps trying to goad a story or two out of her, since sheâd yet to find Phillip to ask him herself.
âIâm Grace, bridesmaid, nice to meet you,â she was all grins and a comforting smile that she hoped put the other at ease. âI was pretty surprised to see someone showing up with Phillip. You two serious?â

Kieran had been wrangled into a dance by no less than three or four older women who seemed to find him nothing short of adorable and as entertaining as it had been to push through his latent anxiety and make a few people happy in the process he was already mentally exhausted and folded himself into the nearest chair with as much dignity as he could musterâ running a hand over his face as he caught his breath. He closed his eyes for a moment only to find the light on his face blocked by something shortly thereafter, âIf youâre looking for a dance Iâm afraid youâll have to give me a minute or twoâ Iâm still recovering from the last three.â He said with a dramatic groan before he opened his eyes and blushed in earnest as he recognized Grace in an instant. âI take it backâ unless you really did want to dance âcause then, yâknow, the offer obviously stands but either wayâ hi, Grace.â He greeted, a sheepishly boyish smile on his face as he took her in. âYou look lovely! Iâve been admiring everyoneâs outfits all dayâ we scrub up pretty nice, donât we all?â

âAlright, Mr Popular, we get it,â she couldnât help the slight jest, but folded herself into the seat next to him. âIâve already been asked to dance by a few friendly uncles, and one not so friendly uncle with wandering hands,â she grimaced at the memory, and had made her excuses for a quick getaway. âThe ladies do love you though, Kieran, it must be that cute little puppy dog smile of yours,â she perhaps only teasing, and as she reached for a drink that a passing waiter had brought, she observed him with a bemused expression. âMe? This is so beyond my usual fashion choices, and the fact that this isnât something covered in engine oil right now is actually making me a little panicky,â she chuckled before taking a small sip of the champagne. âBut I thank you for the compliment. And you look dashing in that little suit of yours. Here, Iâll make you a deal, Iâll keep you from any more dance partners if youâll sneak me some food later. location: dessert bar
With his date off socializing with friends, Fletcher took it upon himself to do the rounds checking in with various others. Idle small talk had never been something he excelled in and thus remained selective with those he chose to catch up with. Catching sight of Riley across the room with a shorter male he couldnât help but hesitate, drinking in the situation as if to study the pair and their body language. Whatever they were, it wasnât together that much was obvious as he watched her part ways with the male before disappearing into the crowd. Making a mental note to track the blonde down at a later time he drifted toward the dessert bar, pulling his flask from his jacket pocket as he did. âYou know, I took you for a lot of things â but this is a whole new look for you and I donât know what to make of it.â He remarked as a lowly chuckle escaped him and he turned to look at the brunette beside him. âThis is guaranteed to be better for you than this whole table put together. Down the hatch Gracie.â He remarked, extending a hand with his flask toward her as he spoke.Â
-
For someone so used to blending into the background, of being that proverbial wallflower, and remained shrouded to observe, throwing her in front of a crowd of hundreds had her feeling on edge. It was a normal response, she had to keep reminding herself, and even after breakfast with William, she still wasnât able to stave off most of the nerves that had resided in the bottom of her stomach. But it was the sound of the familiar voice that eased her, and throughout the ceremony, she knew that he was there, and that perhaps nothing completely terrible would befall either of them when they were together. Perhaps. Of course, the possibility was always there. With her back against a particularly extravagant floral arrangement, she faced her brother with a small smile. âYou know, you should count yourself lucky, no one else gets to call me Gracie and not get a wrench thrown at their head,â she reached for the flask eagerly, and picked up the drink that had been passed across the bar to her a moment prior to her making her way to the desserts. She poured a generous amount of the liquid into her own glass, handing it back to him. âYou might want to shut your mouth before I shut it for you, kiddo,â she scoffed after sending him a look, but she knew that heâd be able to tell that it was all playful. âSo, who did you come with? I saw the back of a head. Tsk tsk, not even an introduction to your sister?âÂ
