What is love, but a permission to make a home of a heart ?

i. blood runs cold as it spills from my mouth listing all the reasons i love you; cutting diamond against glass. ii. i’ve taken an icepick to your heart and let the light spill out to prove you’re more than darkness. (i could whisper that old cliche to you about how neither can exist without each other: without you i cannot exist.) iii. i’ve fallen in love with the way your name left a raised scar on my skin as if running my fingers over it somehow makes you tangible. iv. we always seek people to suture the places we’re broken use your veins as thread and sew my heart back into my chest.
