at the crossroads

It was a cruel sort of irony that the only legitimate job he’d been able to get since joining the Wildlings was being a bartender. It was all Jungho had actual qualifications for but it didn’t make being in a bar every other night any less unpleasant. The job served as a good distraction at least, just as street racing for the Wildlings did. Everything was just a distraction in the end and tonight was proving to be quite a good one. Fights outside of bars weren’t a rare occurrence in this area but Jungho couldn’t help but find them funny every single time. Mostly because it was always people too young who had no clue what they were doing. “Yah, what a mess.” He muttered with a fond smile as he watched the hormonally driven chaos continue. Body leant tiredly against the back door as he makes the most of the cool evening air before his break ends.

drinking gave namjoon the escape from his mind that he often needed. he had the tendency to overthink after all, and he was often lost—both in thought and in life—and sometimes he wondered if he should even bother leaving this gang life. it was probably the only thing grounding him now. well, the gang and his brother anyway. but his brother was nowhere to be found and he needed a drink now. he’d just come from his area to go get himself a drink when some other street soldier thought it’d be a nice idea to start a scuffle; not that he killed the guy who came at him, but he’d hurt him enough to keep him down. and it was just his luck that the scuffle happened in the bar that their oldest member worked at. “he was the one who came at me, hyung,” namjoon whined a little then, before wincing as a cut on his lip made its presence known by giving him pain. “all i wanted was a drink.”
