Iβm at DragonCon this weekend, Fri-Mon! Iβm bringing Julia (The Adventure Zone), Wario, and Eclipsa Butterfly to wear.
Things left to do for Eclipsa Butterfly: finish sewing lace onto umbrella, sew sticks into hat after flight, and have fun wearing her at DragonCon!
Here's Eclipsa's collar/bib! I didn't want a plain white (she's a queen, I think she can class it up a bit) so I covered the white with a lace fabric and made the scalloped edges with lace.

Refined my bib pattern and tested my lace scalloping plan tonight as well!
Hat! I'm still trying to decide how to secure the sticks in the band, they were tucked in for this picture but they wouldn't last walking around like that.
Still have a few things left to do for the dress (add zipper, hem, some tiny fitting items) but I'm happy with how it's coming along!
Finally getting around to sewing instead of being sick. Scalloped lined pieces are annoying, but I think I'm happy with the sleeves so far. Also messing with sculp to get my pendant made.
Spent some time tonight working on my Eclipsa umbrella! I had to repaint the top because the color was too dark, and started working on the handle decorations on the extension.

I made my Eclipsa hat today! This was my first time working with fosshape- it's def a neat material to work with, and being able to use my friend's steamer helped make the process super quick. I used an Ikea bowl for my dome base, and did the brim flat. The whole hat is covered with two ovals of spandex that I sewed together, pulled over the hat, and hand stitched into the seam of brim and done to get to the right shape. Next up for the hat is closing up the open side of they ovals and a band that the feathers and sticks will attach to.
Hah, the fun with internet shopping is chancing color matching. I've got some dye and painting to add to my to do list!
Patterning out my hat brim so I know how much fosshape to order! Based off the hat in my wig test, I doubled the brim along the sides and back, and kept the front narrow to get something I liked the shape of. For the hole, I'll adjust that with another wig test and the fosshape.
Today was a supplies day!
My wig arrived so I tried it on to get a measurement for my hat. Its too long, and Iβm debating between cutting them or pinning them up like I did for this picture. I also did some halfassed makeup while I had it on, because why not. Its a bit bright in color, but Iβm fine with it for now - its close enough that I want to focus on other things before I add dying a wig to my costume to-do list.
I also picked up fabric for my dress, hat cover, and collar! Next up: draft my patterns.
