look I know I keep yapping about the same shit but I have OPINIONS so here we go again
I strongly believe that people hating on Strattland because "Grace is aroace!" and then turning around and saying "omg I love bloodymary qpr" is acephobic
Why is Grace only valid as an aroace person if he's dating someone of the same gender? Why can't Strattland be a qpr too? or just two acespec people who love each other? Grace can be aroace and also be with Stratt. Just because it doesn't look "queer enough" to you doesn't mean it isn't.
(also, obviously, not everyone has to share the same headcanons and if people ship strattland without Grace being aroace that's completely valid. Stop acting like Grace is canonically aroace when he isn't. It's just a headcanon and while I personally agree with it not everyone has to)
I've seen so many people acting like Strattland is just people "needing to ship the main male and female characters together" or various things along those lines and it's so fucking annoying. First of all, there's nothing wrong with that. Second of all, that's very rarely what it is.
Strattland and Stratt as a character has so much depth and angst and possibility to it, but people hate on it because they can't accept that queer relationships don't have to be same sex and because they're allergic to complex female characters.
This isn't about everyone who ships bloodymary, or everyone who dislikes Strattland. Bloodymary isn't my cup of tea, Strattland doesn't have to be yours, but acting like Grace can only be aroace if he's in a same sex relationship is bullshit.
I can't speak for aroace people or aro people, but as an ace person I can say I face enough impostor syndrome as it is.
Queer relationships come in all shapes and sizes and I'm sick and tired of people acting like any that involve women and/or are "straight passing" aren't just as valid as m/m ones.
