Had this piece back in 2015 when I was studying watercolors. Fast forward to today, I'm going to create pieces by using watercolors. I just bought the watercolor set earlier and I expect myself to practice it tomorrow morning (or afternoon, shall I successfully overcome my anxiety of going to the gym lol).

From all the watercolor pieces I've seen on IG, I'll focus on enjoying the subtlety of the watercolor; to see the beauty in the flow of the water as the colors get stretched on the paper. It's unlike the heavy coloring on this piece hehe but no regrets, I was and am still learning!

I'm taking on a Project

Hello you! Whoever you are reading hehe are you there? :)

Added an additional tab in this blog for my monthly newsletter. Yes! For each month starting on June 26, Yvesning Acrylic will come to your inbox to send an artwork that I haven't put on public yet! Exciting!!!

Then I'm going to accompany my art with a message that you might relate to. Of course it will be reflective.... all about adulting I guess (like work and all), but also, there will be some things that are personally outside the my 9-5.

I'm also working on turning this into actual prints soon, I'm just figuring out how that would be possible. And oh! Also thinking of the freebies that I shall be including in this monthly mail club thing. Hehe, oh the possibilities. :)

This year, my resolution is to commit to a life outside work just as how I would commit to work. Because of this, I attended my very first Chinese New Year in Binondo, Manila!

Currently in my late twenties and I admit that some days I feel like I'm just a hollow shell of learning and unlearning adult things. I've been quite busy to the point that I almost forgot that this is how pretty my school is.

Didn't regret going onsite to arrange something last, last week. I might also do this again given that I still need to review and ofc arrange more stuff.

Hehe, while I appreciate the beauty that is UPD (which is also my dream school), I hope that I won't stay here for long and I get to ace my Master's Comprehensive Exam this year. Here's to arts and humanities! :)

Alabang being a beaut

Had a speaking engagement this week in Alabang and appreciated the place's busy streets with all the lights! However, when it gets late in Alabang, the lights are still up but it's much quieter.

"𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟱" 8 x 11 in., Acrylic on Vellum Board

He used to be in a crossroad—faced with the lingering fear of tomorrow along with the looming emptiness of grief. "New Paths for 25" is a pointillism work that captures the rhythm of figuring out adulting. Placed in a vast field of tall greens, he cannot see where it starts and ends. The swirls of the acrylic paint also capture the winds that guided him where to go and how to continue at the age of 25. Finished with a clear spray paint, the work is preserved in the hands of its new owner.
