oops i fell asleep but THE FIC IS FOUND AND ITS IN FACT THIS ONE. idk how i missed it, its literally in the title, i may have fooled (haha) myself into thinking it's too easy.

the writing manages to feel like both an actual Teen Titans episode and a YA excerpt at the same time, hahaha. like, you get a regular one-off episode around April Fools with Teen Titans gang's shenanigans while "romance scenes in PG-13 movies you'd have to look away from when your parents are around" with Flinx, and they're in character too, its a perfect blend to me! and it influenced my own AU as well, this was among a few fics that made me first think "what if a TT03 fan continuation but with Flinx as front and center while the main Titans are the side-plot instead, as if focusing on the B-plot and side characters more, like The Lion King1½ movie??" and thus my TT:SB AU was born HAHA.

ahh, now re-reading it, i remember that this was one among a couple of fics i first ever read of Flinx after rediscovering them again.

it left such an imprint on me that i may have subconsciously taken heavy inspiration and even mixed half of it up with an actual TV episode, because it was just SO good.

theres headcanons i adopted from this fic alone for my own series (because they're peak), duo pranksters Flinx and KF being a science nerd/genius even though he doesn't seem like one. (in my AU, its because he looks up to his uncle Barry haha).
