The Princess Diaries meets Battlestar Galactica: The Renaldi Royal Family inexplicably survived the Cylon attack and made it safely out of Earth’s atmosphere (it’s a possibility they’re on Colonial One). While assisting in the refugee round-up, Clarisse insists on continuing Mia’s interrupted princess lessons.
// There’s never really any mention of royals in BSG because every nation pretty much fits within the unified Twelve Colonies of Kobol, but that’s not to say there aren’t royals? Sort of like all the royals that still exist in Europe. They’re more figurative monarchs than literal, and their function is primarily to assist the democratic government. “Um…no? It’s because of who I am, Sir. I’m not as…privileged as you are.”
He can’t deny that because it’s TRUE. Galactica’s servicemen receive preferential treatment in almost every regard-- but they pay a heavy price for it.
